First time I’ve ever been there, and it has absolutely nothing in common with MO.

Sorry ranters, but MO has more in common with AL or Louisiana than with Wisconsin. Don’t get your panties in a bunch, facts are facts.

It was freezing up there, you can’t even go swimming in late June, even farmers have Democrat political signs all over their yards, the people sound like they are from Canada, etc. Lots of the older people look like soy boy retirees from Chicago. They don’t seem to have a huge percentage of Baws and rednecks like MO does either.

If WI and MO are supposed to be in the same region, that region should be split into two. Maybe MO, KS and OK could be called the “heartland” or something.

I’m at the beach in FL right now. Plenty O’ fish down here, and there’s actually other shite to do.

OP is making this post because MO is ceaselessly jeered at for being cornbread Midwest rather than genteel South on this forum. It may not be classically old South, but OP is making the case that MO has more in common with other border Southern states (e.g., Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas) than leftist Canadian enclaves like Wisconsin and Minnesota. Is that fair, OP?

That is what OP is doing.

He may be right. MO is culturally closer to the South than Wisconsin.

Still a long ways away from actually being Southern.

Missouri sounds a lot like Purgatory. Any Catholic theologians here, please correct me if I am wrong…

Small town Wisconsin is actually pretty damn cool. The bar to church ratio is 50/50, small businesses abound, people are nice as hell.

Wouldn’t want to full time it there, but kicking back at a nice summer place up in north Wisconsin wouldn’t suck.

If you’re going to go up there for vacation, go to the UP or the north shore in Minnesota, don’t go to Wisconsin.

We (Me, my wife and kid) have traveled and camped all over this country. My 15 y/o has been to 38 of the 50 states and all but 2 of those by car (He'll be adding two more in a few weeks).

One of the best campgrounds we ever stayed in was in Point Beach State Forest in Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Maybe expand your horizons a little bit.

Years ago my company had a contest and the first place winner received a one week vacation in Wisconsin.

Second play received a two week vacation in Wisconsin.
