I have a Cory Morrow shirt. It says "NASHVILLE SUCKS" on it. SEC folk, make of that what you will.

NO THEY ARE NOT SOUTHERNERS ... though in saying that they are DEFINITELY NOT YANKEES EITHER.

I classify them as Western or more correctly as stated in the OP they are just TEXAN.

Oh it doesn't stop there. Got a maroon and white "HOWDY DAMMIT" shirt too, one of the first things I bought when I moved down here. Pissing off Austinites (where I live) is just too much fun to pass up.

Isn't it? I was in Austin last weekend(floated then got a hotel and decided to rage on 6th). Austin is a crazy place, and one of the most fun places in Texas, but I love how butthurt they get about Aggies and such. They may be hipster as frick, but they can't pretend to not care about us, not even ironically.

Y'all are so in their domes these days its insane and very amusing. I have great friends from both schools here, but as fanbases go, it became crystal clear to me in Year One here (and this was in the early 2000s mind you before all the realignment drama) even as a third party outsider, that UT fans as a group are a bunch of lazy assinine cockknockers and Aggie fans as a group are the friendliest frickers you will ever find. Too bad they're also Texans.

East Texas has a lot in common with what you'd all call the south. West Texas is clearly nothing like what you'd call the south. El Paso is actually in the Mountain timezone, and is closer to LA than it is to Houston (as the crow flies).

I'd say I-35 is a good, rough divider of the "Southwest" and the "South". And that area makes up the vast majority of Texas' population.

Robert Earl Keen wrote "Leaving Tennessee"...but I still haven't seen either of them say anything positive about Missouri.

Hell, I was in Austin a couple of days ago and I decided to listen to the local sports radio. They seemingly couldn't talk about anything but A&M. I was genuinely surprised as its been a year (this was the day we got the verbal from the QB in Arizona).

Agreed. You can just refer to us as Texans. No other moniker is required. It's synonymous with "Badasses," "Your Betters," and "arse Kickers." Just refer to us as Texans.

Can you really say that with a straight face? I mean half the people in this state are transplants be it other states or illegally from Mexico.

Yeah AM 1300 The Zone has become Aggie Talk Radio, OU and Stoops have been lapped. It's kinda surreal. Rod Babers and Craig Way never shut up about you.

So many folks want to relocate to Texas. I don't blame 'em.
