So A&M was left in the dark, then fiercely fought against expansions…then bent the knee?

Naw, gotta give credit to em for saying "bring it," even tho there really was no other option.
A dissenting opinion would never be lived down.

We’ve been telling Aggies they are nowhere near what they talk, didn’t listen, and now reality hit them like a ton of bricks. I actually feel bad for them. When the subject matter is not their fantasy world they really aren’t bad folks.

Yeah, everyone was going to bend the knee. You don’t think SC and Florida wanted to vote against it too to keep out FSU/Miami and Clemson later?

They don’t want to be left out in the dark or no SEC money later.

There is literally no way to approach this without looking bad, especially being blindsided by the news. It is disappointing that those assholes were thrown a lifeline by our own conference partners after we had them trapped in a program-destroying box for 10 years, which is way better than they deserve. But, we get more money and they have much less power and influence, which they have NEVER experienced before. I can't wait for their temper tantrums when they realize that they have one vote and nobody gives a flying duck if they leave.

The way this worked out is exactly how it should have worked in a conference full of equal partners. No one school can unduly influence all the others.

They didn’t really have a choice, being the one team to vote no doesn’t solve anything and is a bad look

Vote no and we're pussies etc.
Vote yes and we bent the knee and thus we're pussies.

there is literally no way to approach this without looking bad.

Texas being in the SEC will be good for A&M. Their president knows that.

Why did Ross Dork go to media days if they were just going to fold over?

Yeah, it looks like it. Start another post about this tomorrow. These posts seem to entertain a bunch of people with time on their hands.

You're considering our AD saying we'd prefer to be the only Texas team in the SEC, and a board meeting to prepare for a vote "fiercely" fighting?

The only thing Aggie did wrong was their initial freak out. They made some pretty ridiculous demands from what I hear. They didn’t just whine.

They should have just gone with the program when they found out and known this was happening with or without them. Then they just look like every other sec school.

If true, that is a raw deal. Again, I think this narrative went sideways for A&M because of the AD comments at media days. If no comment is made that day, I don't think it would have been seen as bending the knee but more as vindication (which it truthfully is).

bullshite, you've been trying to keep us out for months. When the closed door lobbying for "no" votes failed, you went public & tried to kill the deal by stirring up all the Baylor & Tech lawmakers. Not saying there is anything wrong with that but don't pretend Bjork acting like a pussy on TV was the extent of it.
