They just won a national title in baseball and played for another.I think that's where they'll invest the most. You cant be Alabama or LSU in football but baseball is much easier to compete in.

If the student athletes at every other school in the SEC were held to the academic standards that Vandy SA's are, they'd suck too....

I'm moreso referring to the optics that they don't even seem to feign interest in investing in their football program.
Their stadium and facilities are CUSA levels of shite.

Agreed - we need to step it up. They did annnounce a $300M facilities campaign in the Spring, hopefully that is a kick start.
Prior to that, it was believed that the AD was losing money, and that the university subsidized the losses so that the AD broke even. With each bigger paycheck from the SEC, the AD had less of a loss, and University subsidized less too - meaning the AD still stayed break even. That mechanism essentially meant that all the SEC money went to the University, not the AD...
It was also believed that Vandy was trying to endow scholarships for every single student athlete, and that a lot of money was being sucked into that endowment fund.

I don't think Vandy even has an AD. They are not very serious about competing in sports outside of baseball

They're baseball field is all turf (presumebly to save gorundskeeper expenses) and they're stadium looks like it should be in the WAC.
They definetly aren't putting it into their programs venues from what I can tell.
