Most schools want to help the kid from a regular working home.

They use it to fund all their sports. They don't have a big revenue coming in from tickets sales, concessions, suites, & donations in football or basketball. They need the TV money to keep up with rising costs.

Didn't Gordon Gee disband the AD entirely several years ago? I think they got it back, but that seems to represent Vandy's level of commitment to athletics. Stanford has had a decent football program for decades- I think it's possible, Vandy just has to want it and I'm not sure the administration necessarily does. Maybe it's better now, idk

I’m all seriousness, Vandy could use this money to become the Alpha of Alphas, the King of kings of SEC baseball, why not go all in there and football, leaving basketball their 3rd priority

They're called "Standards", but I wouldn't expect most folks here to know about them...
