That's right up there with his preseason analysis of Bo Pelini's defense, I fear.

My guess is it's Johnson.

If Myles was the guy, then Finley would still have a shot at replacing him in 2022 (same shot Johnson would). Finley has the better arm and he'd have more time to catch up with the mental part of the game.

But if they're already leaning Johnson, then Finley would be completely out of the competition; and since he transferred out, it seems he felt he was.

Of course, none of us are in practices, and who knows how well Myles has healed, but if you look at the data, Max was actually a pretty big downgrade from Myles.

A whole spring makes a difference though. We've got an intelligent staff and O is smarter than he sounds. They'll have both guys ready.

2022-24 should be some of the best QB play LSU has ever seen.

I’m pretty sure what he meant was that the locker room will know who the best player is and the cream will rise to the top, not that they know right this second.

Orgeron never has been able to keep his mouth shut.

Y'know, looking over O's gobblygook statement, I again wonder if there's a hint about Johnson...
I promise I'm not pushing that!
But at the end, he says something about "based on a feel".

Brennan had better numbers, throws a better ball with more zip, etc. But he was 1-2, with the one win against Vandy. Johnson was still productive, and was 2-0 against arguably much better competition in Florida and Ole Miss.

That may be the "feel"; Brennan's got the arm and puts better numbers up, but Johnson's got some intangible Brennan lacks.

I'm NOT saying that's the case; but if it is, it wouldn't be the first time the "best" QB isn't the guy who puts up the best numbers, or throws the prettiest pass.

FWIW, Brennan has a better arm than Burrow too, though Burrow was good enough.

He needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. He could learn a thing or two from the GOAT in regards to dealing with the press. It's not rocket science.

I don't know about intangibles, but the team was definitely playing better by the end of the year. Boutte came on in a big way and Johnson forced a lot to him(don't get too excited, aggy).

Myles was a better choice last year. Had he stayed healthy, we may have won the A&M game.

But Myles was injured horribly and they've had a whole spring. Max may be the better option now.

Likely had more to do with the defense giving up 44 and 45 to Mississippi State and Mizzou vs 34 to Florida.

They did give up 48 to Ole Miss and would've gotten shellacked in that game if not for Corral throwing 17 interceptions.

And if you’re not named the starter it will be obvious to everyone including yourself the other guy is better. This is big boy, getting paid football. It ain’t junior high and we’re worried about hurting feelings. There’s nothing wrong with what he said. I just want know who he’s talking about.

He's an idiot. He has no clue how absurd he sounds.

He dug a huge hole with his guys at the start of last season. As his squad marched in BLM and he was nowhere to be found, his comment was, "I need to know more about it."

If every part of your body goes into convulsions at the sound of BLM that's not the answer you send to a bunch of emotional teenagers skipping practice to make a statement as head coach.

Les Miles is smarter than Orgeron and that's not a compliment.

Saban took some flack over this but it was the perfect response to let his guys know he was behind both of them.

Even his own players. He proved that last year which was one reason so many opted out before the end of the season

Wow, you’re right.

That became such a meme at one point, I had forgotten the question that he was actually responding to.

These two coaches’ replies are certainly good dichotomies of each other.

The reading comprehension of some on this board is rudimentary, at best. Challenge yourself to understand what it is the coach is saying. I do realize that the troll is more entertaining than the truth, so flame away!
