I mean, this is just dumb. If there is one thing tua has, is arm strength/velocity. This sounds purely made up

He's been more about accuracy and anticipation.

Not having a big arm. That's not a pre-req to being good. But I think Jalen may have had a "bigger arm."

Tua vs a solid Cardinals defense and winning is a flash of what he can do.

Not saying his lackluster stats aren't partly his fault, but the dude has NO offensive weapons other than Gaskins, Parker and his TE. His OLine also needs a lot of help.

Miami has two first and two second round picks including the #3 overall, so they have a lot of opportunity to build up that offense.

It’s insane that given the choice today I think Miami would choose Matt Jones over Tua as their QB.

It’s both a testament to how good Jones has become and how Tua has stunted.

I also think its very important to understand that, with no real mini-camps, limited practice time (even more exacerbated in Tua's case due to his injury recovery) because of the pandemic, it was never harder on rookie NFL QB's than this year. Makes what Herbert and Burrow did even better in my view. Any rash conclusion on Tua is silly.

So maybe having the worst wr core in the nfl while coming off a significant lower body injury and not having a full off-season to recover could make you look average? Huh funny how there are much more rational ways to look at these things

Tuna is fricking terrible lmao.

Legitimately one of the worst QBs in NFL history.

Tua had some good games. He finished poorly and now apparently he's garbage and it somehow enforces pre draft opinions. Guys give the dude a little time. Sheesh

Same goes for all Bama QB’s under Saban, but generally whenever they get pressured they wilt like a week old flower. That’s the problem from an evaluation standpoint with always having elite OL, makes QB’s look better than they really are.

Name a qb who's better under pressure than not. Do some of you genuinely not think about what you type on here?

Tua has pedestrian arm strength but is great with his vision and accuracy.

just simply not true. Go look at his most famous throw in the 17 nc. Throws it 48 yards at about 20 degree angle and the pass arrives in under 3 second . There are literally hundreds of throws in his college film of him rifling into tight windows with great velocity. He doesn't have Jamarcus Russel or uncle rico arm strength but it's definitely above average for the nfl

So maybe having the best receiving core in possibly CFB history and an elite RB and OLine makes an average QB look elite?

Tua was an elite recruit coming out of high school. He was MVP of the elite 11 camp. He was not some 3 star that flourished when he got to Bama and had great talent around him. Tua might or might not be a good or even average NFL QB, but Josh Allen is considered a top tier NFL QB and his first two seasons in the NFL he had the lowest completion percentage in the NFL. I will wait and give Tua more than 10 games before I call him a NFL failure.

It’s not above average for the NFL. Here’s an article that compares arm strength based on frame-by-frame analysis of film, and Tua’s ball speed is the slowest analyzed.

Whats elite is his release quickness. And what’s above average, and perhaps elite, is his ability to throw his fastball very accurately down the field, especially on deep crossers or go routes where he needs to rip it there before the safety comes over. But I think he’s finding that there are relatively few plays at the next level where he can rip it in to his first or second read on schedule that way, and he’s having to rely on more average traits on the vast majority of his snaps.

The guy who is the second lowest on the list barely above Tua is pretty good.

All Bama QBs?

You've lost your mind.

No.

It's much worse and happens even when they are doing good.
