re: Jayden Daniels = Next Marcus Mariota?

Looking at YPG to come up with a rushing skill comp is one of the stupider ways to compose a take. ...

I’ve not paid enough attention — what the hell happened to Todd? Is it possible to injure oneself that thoroughly?

re: Bands You Got Burned Out On

RHCP at least has a diverse enough discography that I can pop back in and listen to whatever flavor of them is least oversaturated for me at the moment. But I definitely burned through them in HS/early college and then went years before I felt the need to revisit them. ...

Nothing about Jayden Daniels is your fault, which is great news for him ...
re: Congrats to former bammer DeVonta Smith on his contract extension with the Eagles

And risk his secure WR1 status to play with Burrow in the pros? Any injury wasn’t worth participating in that shitshow of a year on our team after having accomplished so much in 2019. I was upset, but I can’t blame him.
Devonta had much more to prove and made an admirable decision. ...

I thought she had to re-record them, as opposed to using the same audio tracks and just having them remastered. ...

Thanks for letting it flag in the wind a few weeks before “clarifying”, Jeff! Brilliant stuff. ...

re: Iowa-South Carolina Draws 18.7 Million Viewers

You know how half of this board “doesn’t watch the NFL anymore”? Yet the talking heads producing salacious narrative are doing just fine, while quality sportswriting squeaks along on a spare tire?
Even if the NCAAW game is bloated with “fake fans,” those fake fans are the ones who just care about...
re: Respect to Angel Reese to single-handedly stepping up against Carolina’s front court
Posted by TheMuffinMan on 4/7/24 at 6:05 pm
Angel was dominating the 1Q and struggled mightily after hurting herself. Her ful game performance wasn’t good enough, but she was battling while injured and we didn’t figure out Iowa’s zone (which wasn’t primarily her fault). ...

I’m sure this board will be the picture of stoicism if Trump loses.
Catastrophizing knows no party, only the uniparty of fools afraid to go live life. ...
re: Gilbert Arenas with possibly the worst basketball take of the year.
Posted by TheMuffinMan on 4/5/24 at 9:41 am
He didn’t say he was the worst at basketball, he said he had the worst statistics if you also factor in team success.
It was a dumb point but by the end of the segment he was saying that Jokic should’ve won it over Embiid last year. Clipping headlines made a dumb point even dumber. ...

This is just a definitional squabble and I understand your take, here.
But to tie the point back to its origin, are you implying that earning primarily through endorsements leveraging her social media following while making a paltry WNBA salary would constitute a professional failure for Angel R...
Who in this thread is saying she will be a success professionally?
Do you not consider OnlyFans models selling gazillions of butthole pics to be professionally successful? Their money spends just fine — it’s just at a high price of dignity. ...

I was making the point that social media followers are worth money in this economy; I was comparing her IG to your rant posts, which are not monetarily valuable.
You asserted that the well-spoken and energetic heart of an LSU championship WBB team, whom Shaq considers family and will continue to...

Pick an argument, fellas — do we think she’ll fail professionally or debase herself in success?
You’re allowed to pick both but you’ll need to do that with coherent sequences of English words. ...

You aren’t willing to confront the fact that Angel Reese’s popularity is firstly due to her personality and secondly due to her athletic prominence. I maintain that her brand and value will not only survive a transition to the WNBA but would survive an athletic failure on that stage. We will see if ...
