Saban and Bama are like that X10 of all of those combined. We are sick and tired of even seeing you gumps. Time to send you back to the cellars that you belong in.
In only two of Bama's 6 national championships under Saban was Bama undefeated. A loss on Saturday does not end Bama's chance to get back to the playoff this season. I know having lost 15 straight and finally getting a win would feel to starved UT fans like Bama has finally been dethroned, but reality will kick your arse come December.

2003 - VOLS win 51-43 in five overtimes in BDS. Bama was up 34-27 in the 2nd OT and had VOLS down to their final play facing 4th and 19 when Clausen hit CJ Fayton for a first down
Mike Shula coached teams could never close a game. I remember that game like yesterday. 4th and freaking 19! :wah:
What heat would come to him if he wins?

There’s a portion of their fanbase that 1000% legitimately believes they are morally superior to us and that anything bad that happens to us is some type of karma biting us in the arse.
This is exactly what Auburn fans hang their hat on. We love Auburn not just Auburn football. We are a family. The whole Auburn fan experience is predicated on feeling morally superior to all other fanbases.

Does this only include regular season games?
It makes sense for Auburn who had to play Bama and Georgia every year.
But how is Bama so high when they don't play a team equal to themselves and play Tennessee every year?
I would assume this includes all games. Bama has played in a lot of SEC championship, BCS and playoff games those years.

Auburn
Its really nothing new for us. We are always near the top of that list for some reason
Because Auburn plays Alabama and Georgia every year. Right Now Georgia is usually highly ranked and well Bama is always in the top 5. Auburn playing Bama moves their schedule up the list much more than Bama playing Auburn.

The kind that would bring it here and post it because you don't like the college team Mac Jones played for.

Are you delusional?
Kentucky is the best job in basketball. Alabama is not in the top 30.
So are you saying Pearl would definitely leave Auburn if Kentucky offered him the job? I actually don’t think it is a slam dunk. Auburn gave Pearl a chance when no other program would. He has a job he can keep until he retires. Oats might think the same. Bama believed in him. Made him a multi millionaire and he can coach at Bama as long as he likes as long as he consistently makes the tourney with a run to the sweet 16 or better every few years. Maybe Oats would take the job, but I just don’t think it is foregone conclusion he would take that job and I am allowed to have that opinion.

Wouldn't blame him if he left Bama for Kentucky. Never thought I would see the day Kentucky basketball wanted a Bama basketball head coach.
I don't think it is a slam dunk he would take the job. Much less pressure at Bama. If he can consistently make the tournament at Bama we are happy.

Yes because that would be news. A new coach making contact with returning players is just common sense.

If you can tell me how this diminishes Henry winning the heisman and national championship at Alabama I might consider caring.
re: How long until Alabama football follows Kentucky basketball?

Do you really think Kentucky basketball is going on a sustained period of years like this one?
re: Will Alabama be back to mediocrity when Nick Saban is gone?
Posted by Aman on 1/22/21 at 3:43 pm
I assume you reached the age of following college football somewhere between 1997-2006? Forget about about the other 100 years college football was played before that 10 year period. Even in that down 10 year period, Bama had three 10 win seasons and an SEC title. Stallings averaged 10 wins a season from 1990-1996 and won a national and SEC title. Much like Florida after Spurrier, Bama had some down years from 1983-1989 after Bear, but still had 2 10 win seasons and 2 9 win seasons during those 7 seasons.

So maybe having the best receiving core in possibly CFB history and an elite RB and OLine makes an average QB look elite?
Tua was an elite recruit coming out of high school. He was MVP of the elite 11 camp. He was not some 3 star that flourished when he got to Bama and had great talent around him. Tua might or might not be a good or even average NFL QB, but Josh Allen is considered a top tier NFL QB and his first two seasons in the NFL he had the lowest completion percentage in the NFL. I will wait and give Tua more than 10 games before I call him a NFL failure.

What ACTUALLY happened is that 7 of bamas "vaunted" SEC schedule finished at .500 or worse. That's a fact.
Bama played every SEC team except for South Carolina and Vandy. When a conference plays only conference opponents not all teams can be above .500. Actually half will be above or at .500 and half will be under .500. Bama played 6 SEC teams at or above .500 and 5 under .500. Math pretty much makes this how all SEC schedules ended up.

How can you call this season anything other than an Exhibition when only 66% of the regular scheduled games were played ? It is like Jacksonville going 4-0 in the pre-season and claiming they are the best in the NFL.
So if the NFL played a 10 game schedule then played the playoffs, you would argue the Super Bowl champ wasn't legit?

re: Bama fans, did y’all pull for us or Clemson last year?
Posted by Aman on 1/11/21 at 8:34 am
Was one of the first title games I wanted neither team to win. I pretty much knew LSU would win, but I did not pull for either team. Maybe I was a little happy Dabo didn't get #3, because everyone knew a coach O title was like a Chizik title. It was not going to be maintained.
re: Look for #2 Patrick Surtain to get exposed tonight.
Posted by Aman on 1/11/21 at 8:31 am
I always love the takes that if a DB gives up a TD to a receiver that makes them an overrated football player. You do realize OSU has a couple of very good receivers and a pretty good QB. They might actually make a catch or score a TD or two with even Surtain covering them.
One day this super human football player that never gets tackled, never gives up a catch, catches every pass ever thrown to them, never misses a block, never throws an interception or incompletion, and never misses a FG will come along, but until then everyone else is obviously overrated.

There is no way to know that at the moment. Could very well be in the long-run, but saying that now is purely based on being a fan and hoping it to be true.
