Good lord we'd get annihilated in the East lol. That is the toughest division by far.

Horrible idea. It doesn’t understand reality. Let conferences be whatever size they want. Let them determine a champion however they want. Incentivize them to schedule big time out of conference matchups, maintain whatever rivalries they want, and keep bowls relevant.

This is simple.

Half the teams (or more) in the SEC would win the other conferences. Yeah, that's fair.

The ACC managed to get weaker. They and the Pac whatever don't deserve a spot.

Contractually, ND HAS to join ACC for fb.

No, they’re not. They only have to play 5 ACC schools per year on a rotating basis.

Sounds good to me with these additional changes:

1. Move SEC Office to Houston, Tx. All Alabama grads fired on the spot.
2. Texas A&M and LSU Grads will handle the scheduling.
3. Texas Longhorns give up The Longhorn Network.
4. Texas Longhorns "bend the knee" and ask Jimbo nicely if they can join the SEC.
5. All new Competent Referees.

7. This proposal somehow ignores basic geography. Durham, NC (Duke) is literally 20 miles SOUTHWEST of Raleigh (N.C. State) and 15 miles SOUTHWEST of Chapel Hill (UNC) yet somehow they are NORTH? Palo Alto, CA (Stanford) and Berkely, CA (Cal) are technically north of both Boulder, CO (Colorado) and Salt Lake City, UT (Utah), yet they are in the SOUTH while CU is in the NORTH?

Yeah so this is wrong

Duke is straight North of chapel Hill and North even of the outer band of Raleigh

Both Boulder and SLC are a bit north of San Francisco

Guy is a complete moron..

He removed Boston College from the ACC , and replaces them with UCF, the only P5 team in New England, just removed them.. which is why I think he forgot about them.. so that means he doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about.

It's really hard to take anyone with the name "Aggie Dynasty" seriously.

The current conferences will die before something like this happens. Plus this is too organized and college football is decentralized and messy.

I think a more likely future is two different major conferences (one out west that is the Netflix Conference” and then one in the east that is a ESPN Conference) that play for two completely different national titles.

2. This proposal assumes that the following schools bring anything to the table besides the occasional football success.

I'm guessing this conference alignment idea was specific to football and no consideration was made for the rest of the athletic department. Thats the only way I can make sense of him adding Boise & UCF and getting rid of Baylor Rutgers and Wake. Specific to Baylor, its pretty wild that a school in the national title conversation for football (marginally, but still), Men's BB, and Women's BB, all in the most recent year would be dumped out of the entire power conference alignment. If this plan makes any progress Baylor should change its mascot to the Rodney Dangerfields.

If we are suspending our rational brains to advance an impossible proposal, I think a far better solution is 7 10 team conferences. 8 team playoff, committee gets to rank and add 1 team, all other 7 participants are conference champions. I'd also go for six 11 or 12 team conferences, but either way, I think the conferences should all play everyone in their conference. eliminate conference championship games. smaller conferences allow for better geographic divisions. This is what I would envision were we starting for scratch, however, seeing as we arent starting from scratch, I'd much rather they leave it alone and allow rivalries to be maintained.

8 team playoff tho.

There are dumb ideas. And then there is this idea. Completely retarded.

Conferences are too big now. If you are in a conference and there are teams you don't play in 5 years, then it's too big.

Gearing your entire system just for the playoffs, when 90 percent of your teams will never make it sacrifices a lot of tradition and good will.

That's true now. But if they ever join a conference for fb, it HAS to be ACC.

This is correct. If ND joins a conference prior to 2036 it must be the ACC.

I can't see the ACC:
Kicking out a founding member, Wake Forest.
Admitting WVU.
Re-admitting the Terps. Let them toil away in the upper Midwest snow for an eternity.

How many times each July do we need the "The regular season is too short, fix that before diluting the playoff" lecture?
