Is Tebow the most overrated SEC player of all-time?

He's often credited with winning two national championships, but the reality is Chris Leak was the starter for the first one. He's praised as being the ultimate SEC quarterback, yet in 3 years starting he only won one SEC championship.
Seems like Tebow gets a lot of credit for the year Chris Leak led the Gators just because of name recognition.

Tim Tebow won most all of his games and national championships.
Now Manziel is.

So he was credited with one NC and a SEC Championship? How many did Manziel get? 2 or 3?

Tebow was an outstanding college football. Don’t compare someone’s NFL career to college - his game just didn’t mesh well with the pros. AU’s Nick Marshall is a great example of that as well - great college player.

Absolutely not. Tebow was one of the best all time to ever play college football. *washing my mouth out now*

Simple answer is NO, not by a long shot...

If I made a list of college football players I would absolutely not want to see line up against my team... Tebow is making the short list.
How many SEC Championships has A&M won?

No, Tim Tebow was an incredible college football player.

He did. He has the rings to prove it.
No one sane credits him for the first one alone. That's silly.

He was better than the hype. He and Cam make JM look like a high school quarterback.

Dumb thread. Tebow was awesome in college, both as a player and person. Manzlel was awesome in college as a player then completely fell apart.

He beat bama and won a championship that year . I think he's pretty good ....

Well lets look at his stats. The numbers give a more accurate reading of a player's skill then the number of games a team he was on won.
Tebow completed 66% of his passes for more then 9000 yards in college. He threw for 88 TDs and had 16 picks. His QB rating was 170.8 which is pretty darn solid.
But that wasn't the totality of his offensive contributions. He also rushed for nearly 3000 yards and added another 57 TDs on the ground.
In 2007 he had 4181 yards of total offense and accounted for 55 TDs.
Based purely on the numbers if those stats make him the most overrated player in SEC history then may God smite Arkansas with such a player and curse us with him for a full 4 years.

This is why expansion is a bad idea. New fans with no connection to the conference history, ask stupid questions.
