The playoff committee needs to come out this year strongly endorsing P4 matchups by not considering G5 games at all. If you’re 10-2 w 3 G5 wins your 7-2 in the eyes of the committee.

We learned that with Leo Lewis.

I would love this but they would first need to create a G5 playoff and a G5 champion. I'm all for that as well.

Stankey talks a big game, but lets the B1G run circles around him.

I don't want more games against Louisiana-Monroe. If it costs us a playoff spot, then tough shite, we weren't good enough.

Sure everyone says they're for it, but no one will actually watch it which is why you don't have one. Instead you will get a 24 team playoff.

Go look at the Neilson ratings for G5 matchups and compare it to P4. Not in the same stratosphere.

Agreed. Dog shite games are dog shite. And I agree the committee should discount non-P4 games.

I’ll never forgive Sankey for moving us away from CBS.

I couldn't care less about a win over SC St. vs a loss against UNC. The win sucks and the loss sucks in that scenario. I would rather go watch power 4 vs power 4 games. I am not interested in low level games. It's like going into a high-level restaurant and them serving you a McDonalds burger and fries. No thanks.

They should….but they won’t. It’s about W-L to make the playoffs and until the committee has an actual formula that’s transparent (and not just bs statements they don’t stick to anyways) teams are going to scheduled nobody games to pass their record

I didn't need any more proof. The media contract; the delay in the scheduling decisions; his temperament; presentation. If that fricker ever smiles his face will crack.

Petitti consistently makes Sankey look like a rube.

Sankey is a dumbfrick, but I like the new schedule rules. It helps with schedule parity and reduces the chances of schools having an easy ride to the CCG

The B1G needs to adopt the OOC rule, but I also wouldn’t use USCw as the example of that. They played 11 P4 in 2024, and the reason they canceled with the gold domers is because ND wanted to play that game late season (during conference play for USC) and ND has that new clause that automatically puts them in the playoffs. Miami would have been left out for ND under the new rules despite having the H2H

Your regression is due to Saban retiring. It has nothing to do with you now having to play 10 power 4 games.

How about this...change the calculation in the FBS Playoff Calculator where non-P4 wins are fractional (like 0.5 wins or 0.75).

How about:

P4 Wins = 1
Non-P4 FBS wins = 0.75 win equivalents
Non-P4 FBS losses = 1.25 loss equivalents
FCS wins = 0.50 win equivalents
FCS losses = 1.5 loss equivalents

So...for 2025 the final top 5 teams' records (after the playoffs) would be:

1. Indiana - 15-0 (0.75 each for ODU and KSU; 0.5 for Ind. St)
2. Miami - 12.5-3 (0.5 for Bethune-Cookman)
3. Ole Miss - 10.25-2 (0.75 for Georgia St. & Tulane (x2), 0.5 for The Citadel)
4. Oregon - 11-2 (Montana St. 0.5, JMU 0.5)
5. Ohio St. - 10-2 (Grambling 0.5, Ohio 0.5)

So, for their regular season calculations they actually would have been:

IU - 12-0
Miami - 9.5-2
Ole Miss - 7.75-1
Oregon - 9.5-1
Ohio St. - 10-1

Other "Playoff Teams" before playoff brackets were chosen:

Tulane - 5.25-1
UGA 10-5-1
Texas Tech - 11.25-1
Oklahoma - 9.25-2
Bama - 8.25-3
James Madison - 8.25-1
aTm - 10-1

Excluded teams before playoff brackets were chosen:

Notre Dame - 7.5-2
BYU - 9-2
Vandy - 9-2

The problem, though, is Sankey got clowned into the SEC being at a competitive disadvantage to our biggest competitor, the Big 10, and didn't even get us more money from the networks for the change. That's just bad leadership on his part regardless of whether you like playing more games against better competition as a fan. That's his primary responsibility as commissioner of the league, and he's failed
