Most interesting possible playoff matchup you'd like to see

Can't pick your own team.
Mine is OSU v. OU.
I think this has an interesting contrast:
OSU is probably too explosive on offense and stout on defense for OU to get away with their "turtle on offense and wait to snap whenever the opponent melts down facing our defense." However, if this is OSU first matchup playoff - assuming they get a first round bye - then it damn well may be the first high quality team they've seen all season. It is possible Venables puts Julian Sayin in the blender and pulls off another upset despite very meager offensive production.

OSU defense would easily control a very weak OU offense. Probably one of the worst matchups for OU.

Doesn’t matter. Matt Patricia would do the same thing to John Mateer. John Mateer is so fricking bad dude. He’s lucky he has a good defense behind him. He might be the worst QB on a top 10 team in 30 years.

This seems like quite the overstatement.

It would be closer than people think.
OU probably wouldn’t win, but I do think it ends in similar fashion to the OU/Alabama game, except OU is playing from behind in the finals minutes.

I think OSU vs OU could be interesting to watch; I'd like to see Texas Tech vs Oregon. I think that could be pretty explosive.

That's my hunch. I think OSU is apt to have 500 yards but OU gets some timely stops so it is still a winnable game for OU with 5 remaining. However, they won't be able to produce the game winning drive.
Underrated attribute is OSU has a first year OC going against probably the best or at least second best defensive mind in college football. Their schedule is soft. Their QB is a RS Freshman.
That matchup is tailor made to be one of those where the line is -10.5 or similar, everyone thinks its going to be a tough but solid win for OSU, but it ends up being a butthole clencher for everyone who is a Buckeyes partisan.

Michigan vs Notre Dame in the first round would be fun to see.
Former long time rivals that unfortunately don’t match up anymore annually.

Rodo, I think either you have not watched a down of Oklahoma football this season or you just don't understand, EVERY team is a worst matchup for OU yet somehow the Sooners have managed to win more conference games than anyone thought possible.
As for those pretentious pricks in Columbus, they haven't had to play anyone of real note and I include the almighty horns in this because that first game of the season their offense was nowhere near to form the way it is now.
So the thing about Oklahoma should they make the CFP is it won't matter who the opponent is, the defense will either carry the Sooners or they will lose just like every other SEC game they've played so far.

They have some insufferable heathens in Columbus. But I married a gal from Ohio and her family hates OSU. But they are Notre Dame fans so that’s not much better. But as far as matchups, OU can ugly up the game and make it close, and Sayin isn’t a threat to take off. They do have a backup that they use inside the 20 to make the defense think he’s gonna run. They are tough but beatable

I know it’s all the rage to say ND is overrated and will get killed in the playoffs, but I’ve seen nothing to make me think that’s true. We’ll see.

That’s what everyone said about Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, etc. OU managed to keep it close.

Ole Miss and Oregon, if Kiffin wasn't playing stupid games with future employment. Ole Miss has the best uniforms and Oregon the worst. Lanning is a bigger a-hole than Kiffin.

Texas Tech vs Texas A&M. Lot of bad blood here.

OU wouldn't cross the 50 until the second half in that matchup.

I haven't seen much of that this year to be honest, other than a few numbskulls who don't know the sport very well. I think most people know this ND team is legit and a threat to make a deep run in the playoffs (assuming the doomsday bubble scenario gets us locked out of the playoffs). I think some of the screeching from the bleacher seats you're referencing is because they know that this team can do some damage.
The team is balanced and talented without any real holes at this point (other than the kicking game, which is atrocious and is probably the thing that will cost us at some point). We'll get a few starters back on the OL and DL before the playoffs.
If there are teams that I am interested to see us play and that may give us a problem, it's the 3 - 4 that have genuine threats at the #2, #3, and #4 WR spots. You all and OSU fit that; Alabama has that (though I think we'd be a bad matchup for them for other reasons); Ole Miss I think has that.
What we learned last year was that as you got deeper into the playoffs and teams got better and more complete, they could find any even semi weak spot (say, if your nickel was a 6 out of 10 instead of a 9 out of 10 caliber player, or if your QB struggled throwing over the middle or...). I would not trust teams that have an obvious hole on one side of the ball in the quarterfinals and beyond.
EDIT: Also, depth matters a shitload. Way more than in the regular season or with the old playoff and way of doing things. You better be rotating 7 or 8 guys up front on D, getting the ball to 5 - 6 different playmakers on offense, have about 7 - 8 guys who can reliably play at a playoff level in the five spots in the secondary, etc. The rhythm and cadence is just a lot different than in years past or the regular season when you get playing 3 - 4 legitimate top ten teams consecutively each with 10 - 12 days to prepare.
