For some perspective, the last time Vandy was favored in an SEC game before this week, I was in 3rd grade. I am now approximately 5 years from retirement.

Think it is against a ranked opponent, not any SEC game.

Hate ro do it to Vandy. Unfortunately they're catching Nuss healthy for only the second time all season.

Vanderbilt has surely played more than 177 SEC games since 1978

These are ranked SEC opponents, I know there were a couple of times during the Orgeron years they were picked to beat us and surely when James Franklin had his run they would’ve been picked to beat someone.

How did the 51 games as an underdog become 177?

ETA against ranked opponents. That makes more sense. OP stat is wrong. Of course they’ve been underdogs that many games in a row against ranked opponents, Vandy has one of their best teams of all time and will still go 8-4. Remaining wins against Auburn, Kentucky, Mizzou

“Whit Weeks has a leg” — Sean Payton

If he can’t play then Vandy has the advantage. I can’t believe I just typed that.

It was either the Arkansas or Ole Miss game in 2018 that was the last time Vandy was favored over an SEC opponent.

I had fun finding these 1978 gems! I was a junior in high school with a crush on Stevie Nix and some bad arse bell bottoms!
