How big of a moral victory was that for Tennessee?

Now that the dust has settled, does that moral victory count as a win in the Tennessee hearts and minds, since championships have been so hard to come by?

Why couldn’t Tennessee seal the deal against a young team with a QB making his first start on the road? How long until Tennessee wins an SEC title and how long has it been since their last one?

How bad does it suck to be a Tennessee football fan?

I was hoping UT would have UGA the L. They should have. What a gut punch.

Taking down the king is hard. They gave a solid effort.

BK had Daniels and still got molested by Tennessee and Josh Heupel. I can see the trauma remains

Huge, huge moral victory. They're already talking about how they almost beat Georgia, how their QB played so well, and they get to continue to brag about how loud their stadium is (UGA had 0 false starts). We know how much Tennessee loves a moral victory (see them always posting their 75 yard TD run against UGA in 2023 even though they lost 38-10), so arguably this is more enjoyable for them then actually winning.

I just ran the numbers, and it's 1998.

Not a fan of Tennessee, but they did make the playoffs last year and they will make the playoffs again this year. Heupel got tight and paid a big price. He'll learn from it. I was expecting play action to the tight end inside of 15 seconds. Georgia was all in on the run.

Yep, no risk, no reward. Played not to lose on consecutive possessions, and, well....

The winner is decided by who has the most points with the game concludes, all else is moral rationalizing.

None, none at all.

A loss is a loss.

One of the few ways a team could call a loss a victory would be if the game were so close it knocked the opponent out of the playoff.

Did that happen?

We are very far removed from the idea of a moral victory.

I disagree….someone told me that it has been 27 years since Tennessee won an SEC title in football….im sure you are looking for hints of victory in every defeat at this point

Not a moral victory at all, but I do take solace in knowing we win easily with our two starting CBs (instead of freshmen). We appear to be better than my original 7-5 prediction.

LSU is 9-3 at best, probably more like 8-4 or 7-5.
