Same. For us old heads, I have great memories of listening to games on the radio. Before the early 2000s, Missouri was never on tv. Maybe once per year max. It was a different experience, but I really liked it. It's hard to pass up a game on the big screen now, but I will occasionally listen to a game and run errands.

That was a big part of it for me. A kid from our neighborhood high school was a local hero and got a scholarship to Mizzou. That was before the 15 year hellscape that started around 1983.

For me, 1978. I was 12 and listened to MIssouri beat Notre Dame in South Bend on the radio 3-0. Been suffering ever since.

The Intercollegiate Athletic Association is already well underway in planning.
The only thing holding it up is media rights and contracts, but it is inevitable. Not every Big 10 or SEC school will make the cut because they want to keep it to no more than 32 members and there will be other schools included (FSU, ND, Miami, Clemson).
It will be an NFL/NBA-style league and playoff system.

CFB has always been about buying rosters. The blue bloods have always done this. The big difference now is the transfer portal.

The Mizzou fans on this board are pretty awful. The only ones sticking up for Mizzou get banned. The fans left over are a bunch of self deprecating bootlickers

I went to a game there and people were too friendly. One lady followed me around a parking lot with a bowl of fruit.

Only reason I can see is if he doesn't believe Mizzou is serious about winning a NC. That question has been answered repeatedly. He has all the resources he needs at Mizzou and endless support.

Columbia is on par with Athens. Neither are on a Florida beach. I doubt coaches care much about that. They are immersed in their work.
