I do have an interest but the thrill isn’t as strong. It’s got to be reigned in or it’s going to self implode. Multimillion dollar rosters is absolutely insane. There is no way that will be sustainable in the long run. Eventually the wealthy donors will stop and they’ll become reliant on the middle class. I do not give enough of a shite about college football players making 5-10x more than me and that will certainly not compel me to donate money to that cause.

I don’t care for it any more. I’ll basically turn it in for background noise at this point

I'm interested in college football still. The only thing that will get a dime from me is donating to things that help real students attend the university, or the student emergency fund.

I inch closer to not giving a frick every single day.

I reduced season tickets from 4 to 2 this year. I just don't care that much now. New players constantly. No loyalty to my school. Why should I give a frick about them?

I think this is big reason why softball is gaining popularity. No higher league, and the players mostly are there for 4 years.

I have, but I'm not sure exactly how much it has to do with NIL. MBB runs on NIL, and I'm fully invested in it during the season. It's entirely possible that my personal loss of interest stems from the fact that AU sucks at football and has for several years now.

I mean I absolutely still care but I'll never give to NIL. Period.

Canceling my season tickets after 38 years.

Lot of reasons but in the current climate you need a war time consigliere for an AD and we've got Mr. Rodgers.

Will still follow/watch, but at a distance.

No, but I don’t think I’ll respect champions as much as before because they are going to be the teams that have spent the most money attracting recruits. Kids are passing up schools they’ve dreamt of playing for their entire lives for whoever drops the biggest bag. And then transfering out the next year for the next bag. Unregulated NIL and portal have sucked the soul out of the sport.

About there myself. Kills the whole concept of student athlete playing for their school while a few are good enough to move on to the NFL. Never been a fan of hired mercenaries that no allegiance except themselves. NFL needs to start a formally and let college football go back to being about students and the school.

I seriously did not think it would damper my enthusiasm for CFB but it has. I had already gotten to the point where I only went to a couple of games a year but I spent 10-12 hours in the fall on Saturdays watching games on TV and I did not do that as much last season and doubt I will do it all this season...Its actually kind of liberating, it had gotten to be too much

I wonder about this. What happens when the mega-wealthy donors at top 10-15 programs stop paying for this stuff? Eventually those folks want some ROI, and if they’re fronting millions of dollars a year without winning much of anything (particularly now that the public commentary is almost entirely focused on the playoffs and NC), even the people with that much cash to burn are going to stop. Either they just lose interest, or they decide they’d rather their kids have the additional $5M cushion when they die rather than paying some football player they don’t know.
