Lsu has one of the few self sufficient athletic programs. Up until recently they paid into the university

LSU Football & TAF aren’t taking ANY State funding for athletics.
As a matter of fact, LSU football gives to the school.

The State specializes in Football, Food, Fun and Frivolity.
LSU football is Big Business and it's important for the program to be Top Ten echelon.
