If the rumors about Saban are true, I could see Bama going after Elko

Let me start this off by saying that my sources are echoing that Saban will retire if they win it all this year. I don’t believe they’ll finish the Job so he’ll have Atleast one more season.. let’s say Elko has a great year next year and goes 9-3 with a win over Bama. I could definitely see the Gumps poaching him. 9-3 is no easy feat over in CS so it’d be one hell of a coaching job. Just my 2 Cents.

Saban is gunning for the win record at Alabama. He’s at 206 wins. Needs to get to 233 to break Bryant’s record. That’s roughly sometime in 2025.

1. His home in Florida won’t be completed for another 2 years
2. He’s going to coach the 2026 game at West Virginia
He will have the all time SEC wins and all time Bama win record by then. 2026 will also be his 20th and final season. Not bad for a guy who most said wouldn’t be around after 5 years

It’s not a bad theory but you gotta think about it like this; 9-3 is an absolute dream season in College Station. If Elko does that the Aggies are going to give him a 10 year 120mm guaranteed deal. Will Bama be ready to match that? I say no

But Saban never stayed at any program for more than 3 years....so one of these days...it's gonna happen.
