How many conversations do you have with other Mizzou fans about WBB and girls softball? I won't ask you to compare it to your conversations about baseball because Mizzou sucks at baseball.
But, for the vast majority of SEC fans, we talk about and follow college baseball way more than girls softball and probably more than WBB.

Most under leveraged sport in the business. It is amaing and very inexpensive, like baseball back in the 30s-40s.

I would say the same thing if my school perennially sucked arse.

College baseball is huge in the Southeast United States. This article doesn’t change that. It’s by far the smallest of the big 3 sports but still big 3. Ole Miss , LSU , MSU and Arkansas make good money.

You just made that up. No one says it is a big sport.

even the stretch we had when we were good with Max scherzer, still never watched a single game. The talent level is so poor.

most definitely have had more wbb, softball, and wrestling convos with the average fan than baseball.
Baseball #1 sport for st louis-mizzou folks, too. Its just hard to watch the one "big" college sport where players look more like HS athletes than pro athletes.

Yeah but to be fair. It depends on how you ask question.
Is it a big sport in the SEC? Yes, for a more than a couple of fan bases it’s bigger than basketball.
Is it a big sport nationally? Hell no. Look at attendances from Big10, PAC12 schools, high schools down here in central MS (baseball capital of the country) draw more fans at a baseball game than probably half the P5 schools. ACC and Big12 have a few that care and put more than a couple hundred in the stands, but they are not as baseball crazy as SEC.
This is an SEC board, in the SEC baseball is most definitely a big sport. Nationally? No. The fact that 80%
Of P5 schools could care less about baseball skews the numbers when you look at college baseball interest, ratings and attendance numbers.

for sure, not denying that one bit. I'll just never understand how people can love college baseball. And for all the people who say "well its just bc you guys suck", well then why do I watch mizzou basketball and football?

There are a lot of football programs in the NCAA that don't turn a profit either. Only way teams like Vanderbilt can do it is by getting SEC money. Baseball is a regional sport especially in the MLB.
PS: what's the tuition at Arkansas? This is $55K per scholarship. What else is included?

Tony V is here to change those ratings.

Well of course an Alabama fan would start a thread shitting on baseball. Maybe if the schools in Alabama pumped a little funding into the sport it would grow over there. Arky, LSU, MSU, Ole Miss and even the aAgs have their baseball in order in the west.

Why do some people get so upset when others say it is? In this country, when someone says the big 3 sports, everyone knows what sports you're talking about. And everyone who has a problem with college baseball being included knows immediately to respond in kind that baseball isn't a big 3 sport even if baseball isn't specifically mentioned. Why do you think they inherently know to say that?
Regardless, SEC baseball is a big deal in this conference. A lot of people love it. It's always a big topic of discussion in the spring on this board. If you don't care for it, don't talk about it. It isn't difficult. I couldn't care less about womens basketball, but I don't spend my time telling others how unimportant it is either.
And I'm going to let you in on a secret...mens basketball isn't the huge money maker people make it out to be either. March Madness is for a couple weeks out of the year. The sport, in general, barely turns a profit or loses money at most schools around the country. I know LSU is unique, but there have been plenty of years where baseball has brought the university more money than basketball has. The only unquestionable revenue-producing sport is football. But last time I checked, how much net revenue a sport makes isn't totally mutually exclusive with how many fans care about the sport.
I do find it funny that you can usually tell immediately what schools have a good or bad baseball program based upon their fans' stances on the sport.

Dont know why people try and make these silly arguments. If you've been in the SEC long enough you know baseball is big down here, and thats really all that matters.
When you got stadiums packing in more people than almost any AAA venue and even Miami and Oakland from MLB in some cases it's pretty legit in that area.
Go tell LSU, Vandy, MSU, OM, UF, UT, Ark, USC etc etc fans college baseball doesnt matter and see what their reactions are
Meanwhile, we have Mizzou, Bama and maybe UGA fans saying baseball doesnt matter, gee, i wonder why

It's not. Everyone knows this but a few. It's okay, let them have it.

How many homeruns do you think you could hit over the course of a college softball season? I think I could hit 20-30 yabo's.

This just in: there is no such thing as a "big sport".
