How many homeruns do you think you could hit over the course of a college softball season? I think I could hit 20-30 yabo's.

You wouldn't make contact off any starting pitcher in the SEC.

You wouldn't. I'm built different. They can't even field a pop fly consistently.

Albert Pujols facing Jennie Finch

I'm sure you are better than Albert Pujols.

Obviously staged.

Softball is an insulting sport. You play on a field the size of a backyard. Throw underhanded and play with a big ball. It's what you would let your retarded cousin play.

I mean give a baseball player a couple months to get used to the different arm slot and angle the ball is coming to home plate, and they would crush a softball pitcher. You throw a baseball player out cold against the best pitcher in the world, sure he'd struggle.

Yeah ok, for Mizzou it is definitely not. Y’all have zero fan interest and the absolute outlier in the SEC, probably bc y’all aren’t in the southeast… all that time in the big 12 and 3 states north of the Gulf, y’all ain’t SEC bruh, say want you want about State I don’t care, we are what we are and we’ve always been here, but when I see Mizzou on TV I shake my head every time. What exactly did they bring to this conference? No rival, they are in the annex of SEC footprint, girls are too midwesty, again say what you want about Mississippi, yes we have fat people and that’s a demographic we all suffer from, but our women built different.

Mizzou sucks, suck at all sports, accents too neutral, baseball disrespect and attendance is embarrassing, weren’t y’all supposed to be a basketball school? Still waiting on that I guess. Mizzou is #13 football program in SEC, Vandy doesn’t even count. Liberals all over Mizzou, pop in here like “hey you guys”, gimme FSU, TX, TCU, Baylor, Clemson, UNC, Okie State is way more SEC than Mizzou, shite I would honestly take UCF over Mizzou

College baseball has NEVER been a big deal…until this past season. But now college baseball is the most important sport in the world. I’ll let you figure out why…

The most popular sport in the world is soccer. Why aren’t we all on a soccer board discussing that?

Because we have the God given right to choose what we like. That’s why.

Big 3 has nothing to do with college sports. Back when men were men you played the big 3 sports, football, baseball, basketball. Not queer as sucker or football for pansies known as lacrosse.

ESPN treats college baseball like a red headed step child Meanwhile College softball is on all the time.

Half the rating have to be just sports bars with TVs on ESPN2 by default.

Did they try the reverse? Let the best college softball girl hitter in the game try to come close to a ball pitched by Verlander, or heck the best local HS pitcher?

I love college baseball compared to the pros. Having a good team makes it even better, but I've always enjoyed college baseball. It also helps that its basically the last big sport that is still budget friendly to attend compared to football and even at times basketball.
Agreed. And MLB is honestly the only pro sport I pay attention to during the regular season, too (not that I'm saying that's the right way or anything, just my personal preference)

College baseball gives you 4-5 games per week (usually 55 games in a regular season), but each loss still carries weight unlike it would in a 162-game MLB season, making every game feel like it matters (especially for the teams vying for a top 8 finish). There's still RPI, strength of schedule, and a lot of excitement and anticipation going into which teams will finish in the top 16, or top 8, and so on...

It's personally my favorite of the three, but I understand that I'm an outlier in that preference. And yes, I probably wouldn't feel this way if Texas wasn't as consistently good as they are. But they are, so I enjoy it

How about you just shut up and sit down until you have the opportunity to see how a baseball season plays out on this board and come back and talk.

Thanks.

No it's not, and I hope this is always the case.

quote:

how can college baseball possibly be a big sport when very few college baseball teams actually turn a profit.

College athletics were never intended to be money makers.

quote:

Also, how can college baseball be a big sport when way more people watch women's college softball than men's baseball and it's not even close?

I am also a big NCAA softball fan, and the one thing they don't have to compete with is a professional league. The WCWS is their seniors swan song and they will be getting a job like the rest of us.

I have always contended that if MSU or Ole Miss won the NCAA championship in football or basketball they would have had to withstand a ton of media scrutiny that would possibly force some changes in some of their traditions.
Not with baseball. College baseball is just under the radar of the national pundits who like to stir the pot and I love it. I hope it stays this way for a long, long time.

Also popular and profitable don't necessarily mean good.

Look at all the shite on this list of what is popular and profitable.

List of shite

Pfft, ok while I agree people underestimate how hard it is to hit those softball aces on the mound, claiming contact wouldn’t even be made is silly. Sit fastball throw the knob to the ball, not even make contact ever? You’d have to be blind
