The defense was as physical against MSU as I recall in the last ... Good bit. I hope Dale and Oatis can play in BR

The defense has been good all season sans the UT game, which was shockingly bad. idk its hard for me to shake how bad they were. A major part of that was not putting a CB on #11, but our pass rush was also non-existent, and our run defense was not good.

I find it hilarious that people are saying this is a down year for Bama. In the greatest run in college football since the 1950's, Alabama has gone undefeated twice under Saban, and one of those years was a 10 game season in which they beat a team that played 5 regular season games in the final (this isn't to degrade what Bama did, but it was a weird season).

Bama losing an SEC regular season game is nothing new. This year that loss was a conference road game to a top 4 (at worst) team in which they set their all-time record for penalties in a game and were a missed FG from scoring 52 points and likely winning.

If LSU pulls off the upset, it will not be because Bama is in a down season. I see Bama winning by 2-3 touchdowns and getting to Atlanta rather easily, where they will beat Tennessee in a rematch (only because I don't see them losing to the same team twice) or have another 50/50 game with UGA.

But wtf do I know. Preseason I had us beating FSU and Tennessee and losing to Florida.

I feel like we have a punchers chance to beat Bama. We are playing well, but Bama has a great QB that can take over a game.

Premise doubtful. You put our fans in the water. You put their fans in the water. Rational takes?

Farewell and adieu ye fair Spanish ladies,
fare well and adieu ye ladies from Spain…

Kelly is proving to be something of a surprise. O didn’t leave him much and injuries have diminished what he had. He doesn’t throw players under the bus publicly but he chews their arse on the field like a coach should IMO when he’s not satisfied with performance.
They’ve improved game to game and seem to be gelling as a team of CBK’s imprimatur.

Alabama is a fine team and remains, until proven otherwise, the benchmark for consistency and excellence. If there’s a wildcard it’s Kelly’s arse that’s still stinging from the arse whipping Alabama put on him in the NCCG. Can he meld his emotions with his team’s youthful emotions and exuberance to knock off the Tide?

There's no way this is true.

I didn't say I wouldn't be happy, just not surprised after seeing what LSU is capable of. The defense is making effective adjustments, while the offense seems to be good at taking what the opponent's defense is giving them.

The real take-away is, I wouldn't bet one cent on this game. And I made some money on this series back in the 90s.

I have no idea what the outcome will be on 11-5. But I damn sure know that Bama will lose the third quarter. I mean WTF is wrong with this team in the third quarter? Damn it's infuriating!

LSU seems to be on a very good track with BK, and the team improves every week, literally. Alabama, even though they don't look great at times, still has a lot of good talented players, including Bryce Young.

Realistically, Alabama should win this with the talent they have ... but something doesn't seem quite right with that team. Anything can happen. There were times this year some games looked dire and LSU came back and won, sometimes stomped the other team.

For me, it comes down to: LSU looks better than they have since 2019 (not saying too much, but…)

AND

Bama looks much worse than they have in a long time.

AND

Bama has been really struggling on the road, and Death Valley is poised to be an amazing home environment for LSU.

First off- Buck Fama!

With that out of the way, I can’t predict much other than at least we won’t get shut out at home. If we’re lucky, I think we can pull off an extremely close upset, but realistically I see Bama covering or nearly covering the spread.

Maybe they’ll prove undisciplined like they were against Tennessee and we surprise them.

And one more time - Buck Fama!

Bama by 14 or 21.

LSU is a couple years away.

Kelly is ahead of schedule tho, but Bama is loaded and has better players.

Does LSU rush the field with a win against the #6 team less than 3 years removed from a natty? Fair question

I feel fairly confident that this game will be a tight, 4th quarter game, unless our defense decides to show up.

Agreed. I don't think your OL has played to it's potential, and we need to exploit that by stopping the run and get some timely pressure on BY to get off the field on 3d down.

Also believe you guys have been missing a few DL, and if they come back that will be more challenging for our young OL.

LSU needs to withstand any early flurry of points, and respond accordingly. Otherwise it will be over before most get seated.
Our WR's creating some separation for JD will be essential for our OFF all game.

It's gonna be a game of quarterbacking. Bryce will get his so LSU will have to keep up. I do expect a close game that could go either way. Bama is definitely walking into a buzzsaw in tiger stadium though.

LSU has a very good shot at winning the game. A QB that can run very well, good receivers (including TE's). A defense that is getting better each week and a good kicking game.

LSU and the points look like free money

I gotta believe that unlike Ole Miss we can prevent LSU from going on a 42-3 run

Maybe that's just blind confidence

I refuse to convince myself this year that LSU will win. I expected the worst in 2021 and was pleasantly surprised by the showing. I’ll do the same this year.

ETA: I’m optimistic given Bama’s WRs. They don’t present mismatches like Smith, Waddle, Jeudy, Cooper, etc. have been in the past.
