I hope RFK Jr can somehow get the necessary changes introduced into school lunch programs that will help stem the out of control obesity that's common in young adults and children.

The schools' lunches aren't making kids fat-asses. It's the fact that the kids sit around on their asses all day in class, then sit on their asses all afternoon after school while they browse their phones or play on line rather than playing outside that's causing the proliferation of lard-asses in our society. If anything, we should be re-instituting fitness standards in PE classes and reinstituting the Presidential Fitness Program. But in order for this to happen, parents need to spend some time actually raising their children and spending time with them rather than allowing computer and smartphone screens to babysit and placate the generation they have sired.

We've become a nation of leisure, and a nation of leisure rapidly becomes a nation of lard-asses.
I keep hearing how the economy is tanking but my wallet continues to disbelieve this. It's putting on weight rather well these days.

Is this why land for sale is now referred to as a lot?

That's a durned good question. You have now sidetracked my work plan for the day.

How has one of the most beautiful regions in the country gotten to this point?

It's historic. Even back to biblical OT times. The perverse and corrupt are always drawn to the appealing places and promptly begin destroying everything that is good about those places. Sodom and Gomorrah have already been mentioned.

Remember the story of how Lot wound up there. He and his uncle, Abraham, needed to separate themselves because of the wealth each of them enjoyed (mostly measured in livestock) required a lot of land to maintain. Abraham gave Lot his pick of the land before them. Lot chose the beautiful, luscious land and Abraham went the other way with his possessions. What Lot found was Sodom and Gomorrah and rampant depravity all around him in a land that looked very appealing to the eye.

Similarly, the west coast of the US is stunningly beautiful. The landscape, the flora, the climate all up and down the coast. If you've even been to California, Oregon, or Washington you know exactly what I mean. And just like all that wonderful land of the Old Testament that drew individuals to it who created a depraved society, California, Oregon, and Washington have found themselves to follow the same path. It's not unreasonable to assume the same fate awaits them.

I wonder how much of that decision by Amazon was based on the estimated cost of the stickers required to label the items they deliver that are "Made in Chyna."
Good. Now maybe those Canuck bastards will keep their quarters that are only worth $0.18 on their side of the border. (I have always HATED getting Canadian money in change.)
For some reason, I get the feeling that the main point of contention among the members of the congressional committee to which he is assigned is whether to make Cherry, Mango, or Coca~Cola flavored ICEE slushies for the next meeting of the full congress.

Just printed it and stuck it to the 'fridge in the office kitchen. Eduardo is decidedly NOT happy about this.

Off to Iscandar we go now!
I'm still wondering where the black market site is that all these people go to in order to purchase kidneys taken from victims who were mugged in the street and then left in unconscious and bleeding in a tub of ice water.

Top Ten Actual Greatest People Alive (U.S. only)
1) Hugh P. Sanders III
2) Will Brandon
3) John E. D. Warren II
4) Stuart N. Tullis
5) John L. Eades
6) Josh Harrison
7) Skip Andrews
8) Rod Rutherford
9) Chad Dollahite
10) Tim Haley

That list probably differs from most everyone else's list, but every one of the men listed here stand head and shoulders above any celebrity listed in the OP.
You're definitely right. I have never fired a suppressed SP5, but I have fired a suppressed MP5. I imagine the SP5 is just as fun.

I reckon if you're planning on taking it out an just busting caps into some paper at the range (or cans and bottles out back if you're away from town) they can be fun as hell. I must be getting too old to understand, or even remember, having a good time popping off a few rounds from whatever firearm called my name that day.

Thanks for the response. I may have to head to the range to put in some fun time and try one out this evening now.
I'm not picking on you or aiming to be demeaning, but I really don't understand the appeal of these 9mm frames. None of them are fully automatic and they're all chambered for pistol ammunition.

I do admit they look cool as shite, but insofar as quality defense weapon for pricing I'd much prefer the Beretta M9, 92-F, or 92-X Centurion models chambered in 9mm. Simple sidearms rather than a firearm that looks like something one of the coke dealers carried on Miami Vice but still performs in semi-auto only without increasing effectiveness of a 9mm round.

In truth though, I am interested in what makes this style firearm appealing to so many people. Obviously they wouldn't be so widely carried on the racks in the stores if they weren't popular. Someone please educate me. I may be missing something that is quite obvious to anyone else here.
I'm so proud of California! The red states have been berating and ridiculing California and it's citizens for so long that it's good to see them get their faces rubbed in the success California is having economically. As a matter of fact, just to cap it all off, California should secede and start their own country just to really rub it in and show those shallow, narrow-minded conservatives!

re: Going to concerts is overrated

For the most part, these days, it is.

I paid $65.00 to see Pink Floyd in '94 and the same for the Rolling Stones in '95. I would have loved to have seen Elton John in Atlanta a couple years ago, but $600.00 is simply too much. Even Captain Fantastic isn't worth $600.00 a pop.

Some of the shows I've seen at Chastain Park have been reasonably priced (Moody Blues, Yes, ELP) all for less than $100.00 per ticket and worth it, but I think I'll be seeing my last concert this summer. The wife (no pics) has us lined up to see Toto/Christopher Cross/Men at Work in July. Tickets were $140.00 apiece. I guess it's okay to humor her this time around since this'll be a nice, relaxing show that takes us back to high school days, but both of us have agreed that this is the last concert for us.
Not only did they put "Gulf of America" on the sign, they also state that these are the whitest beaches. You just KNOW they're gonna claim that's much more blatant than a simple "micro-aggression."

With that kind of speed, I'd be surprised if he wasn't. Slip was fast as hell!
