About the only accuracy I see in this is the fact that the Asian kids are the only ones who know how to read in the blue state.

We X-ers don't have a problem with the Boomers for the most part. We appreciated a lot of what y'all contributed to the music scene with the great bands we saw growing up in the 70s and 80s. It's the "Flower Power/Peace Freak" part of the Boomer generation that made a mess of things, not the generation as a whole.

That's a big portion of it for sure. But also consider the fact that flying for travel in the US has become an unquestionable pain in the arse since all the DHS/TSA restrictions and screenings have become the norm. Passengers can finally (after twenty years) wear their shoes through the screening process, but the scanning is still ridiculous. Take off your belt and put it in the box. Take off your cell phone and put it in the box. Put your keys and wallet in the box. YOUR POCKETSSS! ZEY MUST BE EMPTY WHEN YOU GO THROUGH ZEE LINE! Now you mustens komm back and take off zee hat und zee jacket.
The terrorists win when we surrender more and more liberties and the American people have shown themselves to be all too willing to give up many of those liberties in favor of the perception of more security and safety.

Even truncated your rhyme and meter are shite.
How hard is it to do this proper?
There are apparently very, very few people who understand meter as the driving force in well-written verse. The large majority of would-be wordsmiths seem to believe that all it takes is making words rhyme at the end of a line.
Of course, "meter" to most folks means something attached to the side of the house where the electric power comes in.

But do you really think so? I mean, yeah, they're caught up in a lot of s**t and they're being exposed, but do you really think it's going to make any difference in the only state that went blue in the '84 presidential election? (Yes, I know Mondale was from Minnesota, but that was a truly weak Dem ticket that had nothing to offer apart from a woman being offered in the VP slot.)

Show us the replay from the 2003 and 2019 seasons while you're at it, please. I seem to remember more Forrest Gump looks on UGA players in those games than in the entire state of Alabama over the previous two decades.

After the temple was destroyed they literally had none. It wasn't built again until long after the crucifixion of Christ.
You have never read any of the history provided quite plainly in the OT, regarding the Babylonian captivity, the destruction of the first temple built by Solomon, the return under Nehemiah and the construction of the second temple, and the very provable fact that after the second temple was razed in AD 69-70 it has NOT been rebuilt. No temple has been built AFTER the crucifixion and resurrection.
I've never seen anyone double down so hard after being so provably wrong on anything like this in my life. I truly think you may need to see a mental health professional about this problem that is manifesting with your inability to perceive reality.
Insofar as to whether Jesus was a Jew - did you skip over all the "begats" providing HIs lineage from Adam through Abraham and then through David generation by generation, or are you incapable of following a logical and linear line of thought?
At some point in your life to have to put the hallucigens away!

Sounds to me like they're playing the waiting game and hoping for a more favorable decision from a different administration.

I don't think you have the slightest clue as to how you "identify" religiously or otherwise. If you consider Christianity to be just one of may hundreds of religion, you don't really believe it, and if you don't really believe it you can't identify as part of it.

re: Military experts: who is your worst general?
Posted by Swamp Angel on 12/17/25 at 10:13 am to TexasTiger08
Vietnam: Westmoreland probably earns that title for being more political than strategically/tactically minded. But that doesn't necessarily rest entirely upon his shoulders.
Korea: I have no idea, although MacArthur did make some very dangerous statements regarding the use of nuclear weapons that he had no business making. He paid the price for it.
WWII: "Vinegar" Joe Stillwell. He completely screwed the pooch in the CBI theater, allowing it to get bogged down with chasing the Japanese through the jungles of Burma rather than getting into China and making use of bases of operation already set up and in use by the USAAF. (General Bissell - 10th AF would be a close second in regard to this as well.)
Modern era shittiest general would unquestionably be Milley. I shouldn't have to go into all the things that win him this title. Suffice it to say that he's been much more concerned about the fairness and equity image of his command than readiness to defend the country.

re: Serious question. Is Bluesky still a thing?
Posted by Swamp Angel on 12/17/25 at 9:22 am to Geekboy
No need to be THAT lazy about looking into it. A simple question for your browser: "Is Bluesky usage declining" provides the following AI assembly of information-
quote:
AI Overview
Yes, Bluesky has seen a significant decline in user activity and engagement after initial massive growth spikes, especially following the 2024 U.S. election, with some reports showing user numbers shrinking from peak registrations and activity levels dropping considerably, creating a perception of users leaving due to it becoming a left-leaning echo chamber and lacking features, though it still retains a core base.
Evidence of Decline/Stagnation:
Activity vs. Registration: While total registered users grew (reaching 30-38M by early 2025), active users lagged, with some analyses showing millions inactive despite high sign-ups.
Engagement Drop: A Pew study noted a 50% fall in engagement from its November 2024 peak, with users posting less frequently than on X.
Data: By late 2025, some reports showed declining average daily users and a significant drop in mobile app activity year-over-year.
Reasons for User Exodus/Disengagement:
Echo Chamber: Users felt it became politically homogenous, dominated by progressive voices, leading to intense negativity for opposing views.
Lack of Features: No DMs, weak monetization, and similarity to early Twitter/X led to boredom.
Hostility: Perceived rudeness, hate, and "left-wing discourse" drove some away.
Competition: Many users migrated to Bluesky from X but didn't fully abandon X; they just stopped using it, or migrated elsewhere, failing to build a strong, diverse network.
Overall: Bluesky experienced huge growth, but its momentum slowed, and many users who flocked to it as a Twitter alternative found it lacked the engagement and diversity they wanted, leading to a drop-off from its peak user activity, according to analyses from mid-to-late 2025.

I give you an upvote for the overall post, but I have a tad bit of an issue with this statement:
[quote]Gun crime will always be high here given gun rights.../quote]
Crimes that are committed with guns would have been the same crimes committed with any other weapon available if guns were illegal. The term "gun crime" is disingenuous to say the least. (This is not to say that you're intentionally using the term to advocate for more firearm restrictions. It's become such a common term that no one really thinks about what it means.)
Apart from that, you're pretty much on target regarding the unfettered access to media making the occurrences of violent acts seem much more prevalent than previous generations. Media thrives on "rage bait" stories.

SEC basketball successes drop significantly when Kentucky isn't performing to their typical standard of excellence and forcing the rest of us to keep up. Somebody needs to get UK on the right track and the rest of us will follow.
(I grew up in Kentucky as a huge LSU fan brainwashed by Dad. I hated UK with all my being - even more than I hated Ole Miss. Apparently I am getting old now and trying to find my way into heaven by saying nice things about them. I probably need to see a doctor about this.)
