In the past, Nick was able to circle the wagons for two weeks and get his team to respond. They were laser focused when they arrived in BR. In my opinion, it depends on whether he can get this team to respond in a similar way. They self inflict a lot of their wounds , unlike past Alabama teams.
I totally agree with this.

if he can’t get his team to respond and loses in Death Valley, I don’t think he is coaching next year. Nick wants his teams to respond to him and if he feels like he can’t solicit the response any longer, he will hang it up.
I respectfully disagree here. I think he'll likely retire when he's decided, yeah I've worked enough, it's time to retire. Saban and other high achievers aren't like us. They don't usually just say screw it, I just can't get it done anymore, I'm gonna quit.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama blew LSU out.
I wouldn't be surprised if LSU blew Alabama out.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a close game either way.
The only outcome that would surprise me is if the officials gave LSU the game.

LSU needs to be READY to play at KO. Can't let Bama race out to a 14-17 point lead as it will be OVER.
Trades punches on OFF and DEF, and KEEP the crowd in the game. Make it a 4 qtr game and LSU has a chance.
Self-study will be essential as Saban WILL attack any weakness, so the nickel DB better be ready.
LSU WRs also better be ready for press-coverage as Bama will want JD to throw into tight coverage or lose confidence and look to run...into a spy waiting around the LOS. Young OT's will need some help with W. Anderson.
It will take a true program effort - coaches (prep & adjustments), players (discipline & execution), and fans (stay and be LOUD) to get a W, but barring any major injury or ejection LSU, no doubt, has the team to hang around, compete, and get a W. GT!

I feel fairly confident that this game will be a tight, 4th quarter game, unless our defense decides to show up.

I think it has the makings of a shoot out. If Jayden Daniel's confidence keeps like it is he and the offense will be tough to stop...I also imagine Bryce Young will be able to throw the ball over the yard... rational take. This game is interesting into the 3rd quarter when bama starts to pull away.

LSU certainly is capable of beating Bama in DV, and I see a tight game throughout, but LSU has too many little nagging things that can go wrong to throw the game to the Tide by the end.

But, watching Bama this last week, it looks like they have stopped the penalties, and their defense looked pretty solid.
I think its going to be a lot closer
Hate to disagree with you especially but I think the refs got their asses handed to them by the SEC and made a bunch of crazy makeup-calls (to be fair, the missed calls on Bryce did not affect the Bama/UT game imo)

We really need both sides of the ball to show up for one game. And we need to keep doing it until the end of the season.

Our special teams is a wildcard and not in a good way. Penalties, muffed punts, poor execution…but it’s been shored up a bit since Tennessee where the game was over on the opening kickoff thanks to their ineptitude.
I like the strides Daniels has taken since the auburn game. We know a true dual threat that can actually pass is always a good chess piece to have vs bama
We need to be able to run the ball. It’ll be tougher sledding than ole miss for sure. Watching OM-Auburn and seeing auburn gash them i knew we’d have success and sticking with the run helped us come back and win. Need at least 100 yards not counting Daniels scrambling.
Receivers are doing great. I think Boutte is starting to trust his body again. Jenkins is solid. Been impressed with Nabers, Thomas and Lacey too. Tight ends have been a pleasant surprise. Can the OL hang in there?
Defense has shown up big particularly in second halves. Young struggled with pressure last season in the matchup. House won’t go for broke like we did in that game but im excited to see how he uses Perkins. This defense is better than Tennessee and has improved week to week. I wonder if BOB and Saban don’t think about a running package for the backup QB after seeing AR15 have a couple nice runs.
Secondary has been dicey at times. Stepped up in the second half against ole miss but our corners aren’t the best that we’ve trotted out the last few years. Need to limit big plays.
Not predicting a score yet but should be a good one.

If there is any team [see Mike Leech's comments] who doesn't fear the Alabama jersey, it's LSU.
There were a few years there during the streak, even when we started games competitively, that I believe LSU just expected Bama to come back in some improbable way to steal it at the end (which they kept doing).
We may lose. We may lose badly. But I don’t expect this team to take that fatalistic position if we happen to be in a dogfight in the third or fourth quarter. This team seems to thrive on in-game adversity.
I’m looking forward to it, win or lose.

We know one thing is absolute about this game. There will be paint swapped all over field! I feel better than I have in the past couple years and hope we continue the improvement and make it game at the end.

Judging on both teams' play, I suspect it may be an epic 4th quarter.
My guess is, Bama will jump out like everyone else has. LSU will start showing signs of life in the second quarter to keep it from getting too out of hand. Bama up maybe 10 at the half.
3rd quarter I see LSU making a strong push to catch up, and be in position to tie it early 4th.
Rest of the game will be whether Bama can reassert like they normally do, or if LSU can keep rolling late in the game like they have most of the season.
Really, only the Tennessee game hasn't followed that script for LSU, and Kelly said in a press conference he coached that game differently. I'm curious about his approach to Bama.
I'm not saying it will happen like this, but it sorta does remind me of 2018- 2 big games against Bama and UGA. Bama was a beatdown, but it showed the team the level of competition it would have to face. We thought UGA would do the same, but that game, the Tigers were ready.
Did the Tennessee game this year do the same? It clearly caused LSU to up their level of play, and I think for once LSU goes into the Bama game with some hand's-on experience of what it will take.

The way Ricks played against MSU gives me hope that the Bama secondary can be fixed. Having him on the other side of the field from Koolaid means the safeties don't have to work quite as hard from sideline to sideline.

Something to remember about a rebuilt team. There is a cultural mindset with the previous team when it came to playing Alabama. A lack of confidence. Every team in the SEC experiences this. With a completely rebuilt team with many transfers and younger players, the mindset is not as prevalent. Just something to consider.

The defense was as physical against MSU as I recall in the last ... Good bit. I hope Dale and Oatis can play in BR

I don't know if having transfers will affect that; most teams are full of players that would be intimidated by playing "Bama" and Saban.
However, I DO think Kelly and House (with his NFL experience) might mitigate that. Kelly might think his process is just as good as Saban's, but just has never had the horses to compete on the field. House can say he's faced more impressive schemes- he's gone against Buffalo with Allen, the Saints under Payton. And faced Mahomes in practice.
We're probably going to give up 30+, but can we score that much? The past 2 games, once we got moving, we scored at will.

We probably only have like a 30% chance at best of actually winning, but it’s nice to have this game be relevant again.
