LSU secondary has a tendency to peak into the backfield when the QB scrambles and Young is the best in football at keeping his eyes downfield when eluding the rush.

That and they just aren't that great at times.

I don't think LSU has the horses to stop Alabama's passing game, Young's scrambling, and Gibbs' rushing. Just too many threats.

LSU needs a lot of penalties and turnovers from Bama while playing nearly perfect themselves to have a shot.

I am still not sold on Brian Kelly as a coach but its his first year so you have to give him a chance.

I'm not sure that you can objectively look at what the program was this spring, and see the way they've played and improved week to week and not think Kelly was an excellent hire.

Yeah, the special teams have been awful, and the offense has struggled at times, but he's got a team full of transfers and freshmen playing like a team capable of winning the SEC.

We have a chance but we have to quit digging ourselves a hole early.

LSU scores from end of 1st quarter last 4 game:

LSU 3-14 Ole Miss
LSU 7-14 Florida
LSU 0-13 Tenn
LSU 0-7 Auburn

We can't keep starting like this, esp against Bama, and expect to win. Kelly has to figure out a way to start fast.

The loss to FSU was not a good loss and the team looked poorly coached at times. I am more interested to see where LSU is in years 2 and 3 under Kelly.

This is pretty much available on Uber Eats during Alabama road games

I’ve felt this way since last season, Bama’s days of being head and shoulders clearly the best in the SEC every year are over. They don’t have the same aura they had from 2011-2017ish. Part of me doesn’t think this LSU team has the ability to capitalize on that, but I felt the same way before last year’s game and LSU probably should have won that one. Between that and Bama’s road troubles the last couple years, there is reason for optimism.

All that to say I’m talking myself into a narrow LSU win but won’t be surprised if we lose by 20+

On August 24th I was just hoping it wouldn't be a blood bath like the 2018 and 2020 home games vs Alabama.

LSU is playing well and Alabama is Alabama. Going to take a strong effort. Whereas it showed some toughness in doing so vs Aub,Miss, and Miss St, LSU CANNOT get down two scores off the bat vs Alabama.

Should go the distance.

No idea. I just want LSU (and Jayden) to be at their best, and we will see where we are.

Oh- and one more thing....have Perkins in that damn game ready to spy on Young. He's a rare talent for us....

Every team we have played has gone up early and we made adjustments. For me it will be harder to come back on this Alabama team if we go down big

This is the key for me. Even as we've turned the supposed corner the last 2 games, we find a way to get down early. That isn't going to work against bama. I hope we'll match scores in the first, if we stick around I think we win a close one. If we're down on by double digits in the 2nd quarter, we will lose and it might get ugly.

If bama’s able to smother LSU run game and force turnovers then it’s going to be a long day for the Tigers.

LSU is improving and more importantly has become consistent. Alabama is all over the map in terms of consistency. As others have already said, at the beginning of the season this game amounted to barely a bump in the road. If Bama comes in playing like they have last few weeks it could very easily be a FAFO game.

Can we get to face Milroe like aggee did? That'd help.

Bryce Young is too good not to pick Bama.

Rational take: I’m astounded we’re two points away from being 7-1 in Kelly’s first season, and that we’re even in a position to expect a good game in two weeks rather than an at-home shellacking.

First few possessions are going to be incredibly important. We must avoid spotting them any easy early points and starting from behind.

If we get to half within a score of them, I like our chances.

Miss St held Bama to 29 yards rushing. If LSU can limit Bama's rushing in similar fashion, I believe Perkins can spy Young, and has the speed and quickness to get him tackled. Those are the keys for LSU to win.

OK, let's be rational. One team this year has defeated Alabama. What led to that defeat? Will Alabama once again give up 200+ yards in penalties and special teams mistakes? Will they give up 200+ yards and half a dozen touchdowns to a single LSU receiver while getting absolutely no pressure on the quarterback? Because that is absolutely what it took for Tennessee to beat Alabama by a last second field goal.

Alabama has much more talented depth, but they seem very mentally soft and not as well coached compared to years past. They could overcome LSU’s best with sheer talent, but if they don’t, I don’t like their odds to dig in and will themselves to a victory.

Bryce Young has been impossible to bring down all year which is probably the decisive factor in the game. LSU’s secondary has struggled a lot the last few weeks. I know Alabama fans have bemoaned their lack of WR talent, but you don’t need a lot of it to beat LSU if you can neutralize the pass rush. Young by himself goes a long way toward that goal with his ability to elude sacks.
