Hmmmmmm....politicians interfering in the free market, what could possibly go wrong?!?
I understand why people like AOC and Pelosi are upset by people getting lots of $ that they actually deserve. What surprises me the most is how many football fans in the South become overt socialists when it comes to college football.

This is like congress telling Tom Brady how much he can make from Hertz at the request of the NFL.
Yes... this is interference in the free market.

If the US government ran the Sahara desert they would run it out of sand. Getting them involved will be a clusterfrick.

Oh buddy they are just getting started.
Air conditioning, natural gas stoves, beef.
All is in process of being “fixed” by the government.

Can Coach Saban, just by his personal presence and charisma do something that the NCAA and State legislators have been unable to even comprehend, create a fair and balanced NIL?
By now, pictures have been taken, hands have been shaken, and coach Saban has done his politicking best to bring some type of law and order to a lawless NIL. Hats off to the King of Colege Football for taking the time to save a game we all love so much.

quote:The problem is, they already have interfered, albeit unintentionally. Federal anti-trust laws are what stand in the way of the NCAA regulating this field, so it makes some sense to go to Congress and either have them do it expressly by statute, or give the NCAA some kind of limited waiver. It's either that or have unions for the players, and I don't think anyone wants to open that can of worms.

Greg Sankey, along with multiple other SEC coaches, AD's and presidents are all in DC politicking for regulation. Why the hell the journalists refuse to name on the others and only point to Sankey/Saban as the headliners is beyond me.
Every conference has a contingency of their representatives in DC, same as the SEC.
