Even if they don't have any intel thats really the only option left at this point. They have passed on some pretty solid RBs though, so they aren't giving themselves much room for error if someone they like doesn't come available.

KN stating that AU is about to add a stellar off-field recruiting assistant. Cooper Petagna seems to be the name most thrown around. He’s been linked to AU since he announced his resignation from Oregon in January.

That would be a big get.

KN has been saying for a while that we’ll be more active after spring

Auburn’s pretty far into the semester at this point so I’m not sure which of these guys could participate before summer anyhow

Wondering why he left Oregon still

The Oregon job seemed like a "stop gap" I wonder why he left Michigan though. The position at Oregon didnt even seem like a lateral move, after a killer resume along the way.

I bet he gets director of player personnel position with us.

He helped build the recruiting organization at Alabama a decade ago, with stints at LSU and Michigan. I think we will move from a "good ole boy" recruiting system to a business, which is what it is.

I hope he becomes our chubby guy in Moneyball.

His hire, if it happens, is more exciting than any of the assistant hires.

Texas fans seem pissed at the news we might grab Cooper Petagna, do we have a spot for him? If we have hired him and I missed it I apologize

There’s no limit to support staff. If he’s been hired it hasn’t been announced

According to KN as of now Auburn still hasn't reached out to Vandy transfer RB Keyon Henry-Brooks. Things can always change, but thats the latest.

I really have no clue what their plan on RB is at this point honestly. As far as I know they haven't contacted a single transfer RB. There's way no they believe in Devan Barrett that much, right?

Maybe they are doing a really good job of keeping their interests close to the vest, and not much 'leaking'.

Harsin may be trying to run a very tight ship in his early days as HC.

As someone else said, they indicated after spring is more where they make moves....hope so...cause that will be all that is left to fill depth...

Okay, but who who is more likely to reciprocate interest in Auburn? A 5-star from Georgia, or a 5-star from California?

Trick question, the answer is neither.

Ya'lls friend JBoy had Riley Quick on and he named Auburn Florida Florida state and michigan. Sounds like AU is probably the leader.

My son said he'd beat his arse if he commits to AU then flips to bama a week before signing day.

Do you know if Alabama has offered? And what’s your thought on him? Seems like last year you weren’t very impressed but I could be misremembering

Riley is an impressive player. Seriously though he's kind of crazy. Not a good football crazy kind of way. He comes from a very good family. He needs size as in muscle but he plays baseball and is a good pitcher so I'm sure coach Mauldin doesn't want him getting up to 300 lbs. He can play either at an SEC level. At 265 he's probably a better DE then OT at this point but is a good athlete. Once he hits about the 305-310 mark he has the talent to be an SEC starter. Right OT is where I would pencil him in but could play left.

He's not an off the field problem in high school but I could see some issues pop up off the field once away from mom and dad. I mentioned Samuel Dutton in baseball going to LSU. Riley and Samuel are first cousins. Their moms are sisters. Samuel's Dad is my cousin and probably the best "non high school, college, or pro baseball coach" I've ever been around. So I know the family very well.

Definitely a kid you take the risk on. Just have to keep an eye on him that first year away from home like all freshmen.

* Edit sorry didn't answer the question. I'm not sure Alabama had made a committable offer to Riley. However, unless Pierce is just being a goof at bama and I seriously doubt he is. I bet Riley gets an offer. Riley is a better athlete, Pierce was a better high school OT.

As far as this year's HT kids yall know I'm down for Justice Finkley. Nonstop hustle and has talent. Reminds of Carl Lawson. Might have a little meaner streak then Carl and he's played inside more then Carl so might be more advanced on taking on chips and double teams then Carl was coming out of high school.

Probably the 3 Sec level players are Riley Quick, Justice Finkley, and Omari Kelly. Not sure where Kelly will play in college. Maybe safety but hasn't played a lot of defensive back in high school. I also have Fegans as my top player in the state. Henderson at 2 and Alexander at 3. Perry way down from where 247 has him around 10th or so. The state appears stacked this year but mainly kids from the south which I rarely get to see or have relationships with the coaches.

As far as I know he still hasn't been offered by the new staff. I keep waiting on this one too.

Omari Kelly
I said last year just watching him a little that I thought he would be a better DB than WR. I think he can play both. I'm not sure if the staff has offered him yet either.

I heard his name mentioned in relation to Auburn a couple of weeks after Harsin was hired. It died down and this is the first I have heard if him since then. I really hope Auburn lands him.

It appears we've offered Alex McPherson. I believe he's the K that everyone was excited about a few weeks ago.
