I dont think we are in a position to come out of the gate and get blue chip recruits. We need to look competent on the field first.

We’re really only hearing about the recruits that want to be heard. There’s no official way for reporters to know who the coaches contact. Typically, they’d be seeing them at recruiting events, camps, unofficial/official visits, and so on. They’re currently reliant on kids tagging coaches and Auburn on Instagram and Twitter. Then they’ve gotta convince the kid to have a conversation.

And right now the conversations and intel is skewed toward unranked and underrated kids that are most motivated to let people know about their Auburn offers, virtual visits, and ultimately participate in interviews to generate buzz and more offers.

Auburn’s offered most of the 247. Those went out in flurries as the staff hires rolled in. Now it’s a trickle of other guys they’re likely trying to get ahead on before the recruiting services pick up.

It’s a weird spot all around and it’s hard to say where we’re at right now. Ultimately, this is a staff that hasn’t shown it’s product and can’t get recruits on campus to get to know them. It will eventually pick up but it’s hard to say. It’s been over a year since kids have been on campus now and that was with a different program. These things take some time to get moving

Thanks Jones, makes a lot of sense. Im certain we have offered most of the blue chippers as well, just little information coming out.

Any idea what the "covid protocol" will be for Aday? Will we see a lot of recruits or will there be restricions?

We need to look competent on the field first.

Or start outright paying them like UGA does

He may be UR, but he's got a 5-star smile

Auburn has offered ‘23 QB Dante Moore of Detroit.

Currently a top 15 ‘23 recruit. Michigan offered him 3 years ago

Not really recruiting yet but Noah Iggy’s lil brother Michael is the middle school (8th grade) state leader in the 100m 11.84, 200m 24.95, and I think set a middle school state record in the long jump. No one else in the state in middle school is in the 11’s for the 100 or the 24’s for the 200. He’s basically a second ahead in both events to the nearest competition.

Just saying...

AU has their eye on a 3* receiver at Clay Chalkville now. Interesting.

Marquarious White? Hmm.

ETA: I hope we start landing some big fish. 2021 class was already lacking. Pulling in lowly ranked kids from in-state isn’t exactly exciting for 2022 class.

FWIW, the staff hasn’t offered him. Just like most of these UR and 3* guys that KN has posted about.

And the stories are all about the same. A staff member has reached out, likes their tape, and wants to keep in touch. We subsequently hear “Auburn likes them”. And that’s where it basically ends

So far, this seems most consistent with a staff that’s hustling to get in contact with everyone on the board, top to bottom.

4* TE Kaden Helms is talking to Auburn a lot. He picked up an offer this week. Also has recent offers from Michigan, OU, and LSU.

He likes Harsin and likes what he thinks the offense will be. Wants to get a virtual visit in soon

Speaking of virtuals — Auburn had a virtual visit with Omar Graham Jr. Another 3* OLB with a great offer list including UF, Michigan, FSU, PSU, etc

Great recruiting graphic:

A day before his commitment, I’m not sure this changes anything, FWIW.

DId he get the BB offer from Pearl only bc we just lost Powell?

It does seem strange Auburn would reach out the day before he commits. Seems a little desperate.

It definitely is desperate but you do what you need to try to get these guys I’m not going to feel bad if the BB offer puts us over the the top. Same deal with McKinstry.

And same thoughts with McKinstry. Phenomenal athlete, borderline SEC basketball player. But still intriguing and still competent and would contribute if he wanted to

Henderson to Alabama.

KN posts that we’re going after 4* ILB Woodward out of Mobile. Current Alabama commit but he said he’s open and interested in AU. His cousin is Lee Hunter
