Coates, Gerald, and Kelly are really impressing Pitt.
We all knew about Dorian and his potential, but the new guys are really doing well.
BTW Coates looks like A BEAST. Coach was saying how they haven't been able to block him.

Don’t mind if I do.

Not drinking.
As low as my expectations were the last 3 or 4 years, somehow they found a way to not reach them.
It will take a while for my hopes to get up again.

Meh. Dont sip the antifreeze.
From what little practice video Ive seen they dont look much different than the last several years. Granted thats a small sample size, I know.
But the offensive skill positions look much better IMO.

Dline looks like a surprise = o line is shite.
Offense looks amazing = defense is shite
Defense looks legit this year = offense is shite.
Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, can't be fooled again.

And just what else would they say? Not trying to be a dick, just pointing out they aren't going to come out and say the OL sucks balls.

Coates #13 is a monster. 6'6" 290.
Myron Cunningham is even bigger. We seem to have a handful of actual SEC bodies.

No one expects them to say that, but when one piece of a team that's been the absolute worst squad in the SEC for three straight years shows up against itself in a couple of practices (or even a spring game), it doesn't mean jack shite.
The coaches have to say what they have to say. We can respect this and not buy necessarily it. Unless Pittman turns out to be the most profitable under-the-radar hire in CFB history, we're in for a long, long two or three years.

Well we've seen, over the years, a couple of new faces emerge on defense and completely change our abilities as a unit.
If we can get pressure on opposing QB's it will allow our secondary, and lbs, to make more plays.
Look how Flowers, Philon, and Spaight made every guys job easier on that side of the ball.
Not saying these guys will have that big of an impact, but if these young men can at least put a little bit of fear in the opposing offense it will pay huge dividends.
One thing is for sure, we will be much bigger on that front, and quicker. Can't be a bad thing.

And one more thing.
I'm not trying to sell you all delusions of grandeur, but this team has had talent on in the past 2 years.
We've been more a victim of coaching/development than lack of talent.
My hope is that this new coaching staff can get these kids to believe.

Yeah I'm not really buying into the hype until I see it on the field either but guys like Gerald saying that this is the first time they've received coaching in several years is pretty eye-opening. We had a lot of coaches on the defensive side who had one step toward retirement.

Also of note is that none of these 3 played last year outside of a couple of snaps with Gerald so it is actually possible they make us better.

Completely agree. We have enough talent to win 4-5 SEC games now. Same with the past years.
Regardless of anyone's opinion of Pittman as HC, our staff is tremendously improved as a whole.
Our line play hasn't been good and I trust Pittman and staff to correct that much more than the Morris crew.

Oline has been bad, but is there anyone here who doesn't think that if anyone on this planet could improve our Oline as it currently is, that it would be Pittman? We've witnessed first hand how much his presence impacts our performance in that area both when he got her and immediately after he left.
