So earlier this evening the other board either shut down their coaching search forum or hid it from non logged in users. I don’t have account there so not sure.

Odd for sure coupled with rumors flying a few hours later

Dabo is anti transfer portal. His competitive edge was being able to recruit at a high level and pay guys prior to NIL. basically what Bama was doing except Saban can actually coach.

He’d fail here miserably.
Yall are missing the point on Morris, and others like him for that matter.

I don’t think any of the guys associated with him were highly ranked or heavily recruited by top programs. Who gives a shite if they aren’t NFL ready their rookie season if they are producing in college?

And it appears he continues to find guy that excel in his system. I don’t know if he’d make a great HC here but no denying he can produce results at QB.
I mentioned on another thread but we need the next AD to have some AR roots or connections to the program.

Also why does it seem we fail so miserably on the small things? Hell have events a few times a year that highlight previous teams, show game footage and interview some of the key players on stage. Raise money for NIL. Plenty of fans would love to hear stories from memorable games/ seasons, especially with where the program is currently.

Baseball and basketball ( depending on the coach) have always done a better job than football about recognizing our history.

Ties into another discussion we were having about getting more instate talent. NIL alone isn’t gonna cut it if you don’t build a culture that has some pride about being a Razorback. You can’t buy that and yet it doesn’t cost anything.

So who’s making the call on who we interview and how they stack up on the short list? Cause if that’s the actual list I’m impressed/ shocked.

Just listening to the radio the past 3-4 weeks seems pretty obvious HY is out. One of the NWA shows was having a discussion about who would be hiring the next coach. It was subtle but you can always tell when certain guys get the go ahead to quit toeing the company line for the moment.

I heard back in Sept HY was looking at taking a role within the SEC office. Not sure if there’s any truth to that.

And aside from the politics and games that get played internally, Little Rock debate, etc I’d much rather start hiring AD’s that have a deeper connection to the state or program.

I believe Franklin will be another Bert. He doesn’t run an out scheming offense, and he doesn’t seem willing to adapt.

Admittedly I don’t know much about Franklin but I get what you are saying.

Looking at another 2 win season it probably sounds ridiculous to be questioning if a guy who made the CFP just last year is the right hire. I haven’t looked into why his record is so abysmal against highly ranked teams, it’s concerning on paper though. I’m not sold on him, primarily because he may end up with a Jimbo type contract with a huge buyout.

On the flip side his interview on College Gameday was interesting. Seems he may have a chip on his shoulder with a lot left to prove. His pre-NIL work at Vandy was impressive and frankly better than what Pittman was able to do here.

I’d be good with Golesh from a “fit” perspective because we need someone who can scheme/win without equal talent. Big risk though given the state of our program. Article on ESPN today about Texas Tech and the work their GM has done scouting players further highlights how far behind we are in all areas.

Hope this turns out well but if history is any indication this ends up being like the Stan Heath hire. Making a “safer” hire from an optics perspective vs just getting the right guy and saying screw the optics/risk.

Agreed and it’s highly unlikely we hear anything true until after Thanksgiving. That being said his name gets thrown around a lot and I don’t know anything about him. So my first thought is he took over a program that was moving in the right direction. And the previous 2 guys who left flamed out at bigger schools. Is that a pattern or just coincidence?

Someone tell me why Silverfield would do better than Norvell or Fuenette did after leaving Memphis? I really don’t know anything about him.

Kiffin, Riley, and Sark all failed at SC.

As did everyone else there not named Carrol or Robinson. USC job is way overrated in today’s landscape of CFB. 3 guys you listed as failures there all had winning records. Sark was 12-6. Kiffin 28-15. Maybe not to USC standards but any of the 3 would be better than anyone we’ve had since Hatfield and maybe Petrino first stint.

I’d be good with keeping Petrino IF I knew for certain who he’d be brining on staff. Primarily DC.

I’d take Lincoln Riley and wouldn’t think twice about it. He’s still young. Saban didn’t win his first title till he was in his 50’s. Look at how Kiffin has grown as a coach. Kiffin’s teams don’t play great defense, he hasn’t won anything of note yet (I think he will at some point) and everyone here is pissed we didn’t land him last time around, myself included.

Not sure why we write off so many younger guys who’ve have success and assume they won’t continue to adapt to what it takes to win a NC.

Said every player that transfer in or out, about whatever school they are currently at. It’s just become a common catch phrase like coach speak.

Would be on par but I sure hope not. I’d rather give BP 3-4 years and re-evaluate the market then.

Guess we can mark him off the list, not that any of us had him on it to begin with.

What I’ve noticed the last 4 weeks:
- Petrino seems more comfortable/ engaging with media or coaches shows than his previous tenure. Could be for show but I think he’s changed his personality some.
- Still a hardass on the field
- he’s knows what it takes to build a program. His lack of having a good defense is overblown.
- lastly he’s still an elite level play caller. A lot of our miscues have been poor execution or talent. IMO he’s a guy who done more with less when you look at the talent we’ve had.

Frankly one of my only concerns with him is will he go out and get a highly rated QB or will he try to find a diamond in the rough. Sometimes feels like to wants to find an under the radar QB and turn them into something no one else expected as a way of flexing his ability to develop QB’s.
At this point I don’t see him leaving. Good for him. I wish Arky had landed him during our last search. He doesn’t strike me as a guy who’s willing to chase another payday, especially after so many sudden moves early in his career. I’ll admit he’s made me dislike OM less, not sure how I feel about that
If LSU didn’t have an opening the CCB would get more diverse traffic. As it stands it’s primarily about LSU ( I know this is a LSU board). Thus probably the reason many still post on other boards.
1906 THC

Can’t recommend these enough. Low dose THC + CBD. It’s an edible I guess, but just a pill you swallow. One of our resident drug experts might know if it’s enough THC to hit on a piss test. Works great and wake up feeling great. No hangover or lethargic feelings like otc sleep meds.
I assume those are electric? And likely very heavy if they are spec’d out with other gear or armor. Meaning the battery will drain faster.

I really hope the batteries die on the highway during an extended high speed chase…just for the hilarious fallout and memes.

This goes out to anyone lurking from another board. Not the level headed folks we have here.

We aren’t hiring anyone till after the season. Quit sky screaming that we are falling behind. Firing Pittman early bought us time to get aligned on funds, targets and certainly talk with agents behind the scenes about who’s a legit candidate.

Anyone who thinks we should pull the trigger on a coach now, even one currently unemployed is an idiot. The current staff would all bail. The product we put on the field would more embarrassing than it already is. Leading to the new coach starting out in a deeper hole.
