It was too late. Transfer portal closed in early Jan. HS signing day already passed. If he’s been raising money for next year I’ll give him props for not brining it up and bitching about it. Hell any of us would be pissed if we didn’t have the resources to do the job we were hired for.


Still not sure he can coach but I’m willing to let this HY stuff play out and see what Silverfield does in the portal.

Also I did hear from someone who attended one on the fall camp practices. Supposedly RS said it’s one of the worst rosters he’s coached from a talent perspective. This was 3-4 weeks prior to the first game so I figured it was an embellishment but so far looking like my guy wasn’t lying. I’ve been pretty vocal on here about us not having a talent issue, as in we have enough talent to win 5-6 games. Maybe I was wrong.

From the 48 hours and/or Dateline episodes on this case, it seemed pretty certain she was guilty. Nothing in this doc hasn’t changed that, just showing some police and prosecutorial misconduct.

The gas cans and over 24 hour period her phone was off are extremely coincidental with the timing of the shooting. Unless the defense could show that turning her phone off and driving thru remote mountains was a normal thing she did.

Trades like This is why I quit playing FF with my kids and their friends group.

We were pissed that we fired him, paid his buyout and made it appear he left on his own terms.

I’d argue both those schools were in a better starting spot. IU brought in a ton of guys with Cig that worked out. They didn’t play a ranked team until Nov. Their first game was a 31-7 win over FIU. They also had better QB play, something we’ll have to address.

LSU not even comparable. They have more talent on paper, regardless of Kiffin.

And I don’t think Silverfield is anywhere close to the same level as Kiffin or Cig so I don’t expect the same turnaround. That being said, going winless in conference year 1 isn’t going to cut it and year 2 should be minimum 7 wins.

Jerry is a poor man’s Frank Broyles. He played for Frank and runs the Cowboys much like Frank ran our AD office, in terms of meddling with the coaches. Biggest difference being Frank was a hall of fame coach, and Jerry only thinks he’s a coach.

This is all that needs to be said.

BP wasn’t the right hire. Would our offense look better? Almost for certain. But if it weren’t for HY we’d have plenty of other options. He botched the Golesh thing. He doesn’t have a good reputation in the coaching circles. We didn’t “settle” for Silverfield because of lack of other interest. Surprisingly our dumpster fire of a program isn’t the concern…it’s HY. Fix that and let the next AD make the next hire (most likely at the end of next year)

Early 2000’s was the GOAT. I still think mid-majors would have no issue playing on Thursday night…..but now that every game is essentially on TV the allure isn’t quite the same. Frankly I’d love to see some D2 football aired on ESPN on Thursday night much like MACtion was back in the day. Football at that level is pretty entertaining to watch if you catch the right matchups.

I think part of it is acclimation, or lack there of. But when I was growing up 80/90’s I also don’t remember playing football games in 100+ degree heat. Arkansas early season games were always 7:00 pm kickoffs. We suck now so that’s out of the question with the stupid TV contracts.

I think getting MSU or UK results would be just fine at this point. Bert, Morris and Pittman couldn’t even do that.

We have plenty of resources and talent to get 7-8 wins here every year, period. Talent and resources is the difference between 8 wins or the CFP. Everything we’ve experienced since the motorcycle wreck goes back to coaching and effort.

We’ll know by year 2 if Silverfield is moving in the right direction.
