Random thought about COD/ first person shooters

Anyone else think it’s crazy video games can sell a game and then remove elements of what you paid for? Specifically game modes or maps. Very bizarre how they get away with that. Imagine going to Madden and not being able to play all the game modes.
re: Regarding demo shift and cities rebounding, what’s up with Newark and Jersey City?
Posted by GoldenSombrero on 3/26/26 at 3:24 pm to TexasTiger08
Idk but I’d imagine Newark property values about to explode with $$$ probably moving out of NYC. Easy enough commute to financial district. New NYC mayor gonna be the best thing to ever happen to Newark. lol

I can't remember if a detail from the book on his redemption journey was left out of the movie. When he decided to forego the trip back home in order to save Rocky and Erid, I think it was obvious that he probably would never get back home, but in the book it was clear that if he went to help Rocky, he expected to starve to death in 3-4 years because Eridian food was too toxic for humans. This made his decision even more heroic, but I can't remember if they played down in the movie how quickly he expected to die.
They didn’t touch on this or the Me Burger  in the movie.
For non book readers, they take a sample of his tissue/DNA and create a food source

Pretty much nailed exactly what I wish they would have included.
Honestly an extended version of the movie on streaming would be a fantastic approach to offset keeping the theatrical release shorter.
Gosling talking thru his ideas, like you have to in the book to tell the story, would have added a ton without increasing run time.
But considering all the book readers aren’t discussing/ complaining about anything visual I.e. Rocky, etc says a lot about how well they executed on most everything

genuinely enjoyed Project Hail Mary because it was good, old-fashioned story telling about two bros trying to save the people they loved back home.
Hope studio executives are smart enough to realize this point. PHM was great in spite of it being space/ sci-fi, not because of it. My guess is they’ll start making more alien human work together movies.
Completely missing the point of PHM, the plot and story telling that made it great.

Pretty sure my fear originated from an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard

Time will tell. I do like his approach, energy and attention to detail. Frankly Bert and Pittman would’ve worked out better had they not been so lackadaisical. I don’t think he has some insurmountable hill to climb to have success here.

Depends entirely on your local market and who’s likely to buy. Investment property it’s probably no big deal.
But if your target is someone looking to move, your buyer pool of people who have extra cash available for the repairs is likely small. Even knocking down the price won’t attract that group (most home buyers) as they can’t finance the cost for the remodel into their mortgage.

Anybody remember the video from the 90s about the guy who had a dune buggy that ran on water ( if I remember correctly)? Of course he died from very suspicious circumstances and I can’t find the video online anywhere. First time I watched it was probably 20 years ago. Tried finding it again about 10-15 with no luck.

Yes and it’s only gotten worse. Add in social media and people attending events so they can post shite and you end up with an overpriced and boring environment.

The SB is in SF, as convenient a location as Seahawks fans are going to get. But you think there’s a lack of demand because they went to the Super Bowl like 13 years ago?
I think it’s cause they’ve priced out the actual fans for the most part, so they don’t even bother looking. Plus having to plan a trip with 2 days notice.
IMO the best week of NFL football was 2 weeks ago. Super Bowl has developed a really stale or corporate environment.

What is that War on the Hill stuff about? Looks like maybe some kind of offseason competition between the players?

Not nearly as bad as every business asking me to round up for whatever charity they are promoting. It’s not the donation that bothers me but the fact they are using my donation as a tax break instead of donating themselves.

Plus, Trinidad just signed a new NIL agreement with Ole Miss so the damage to Trinidad being ineligible is very real rather than it just being hypocritical.
That should have no impact. If it does teams will just start signing Sr’s to new NIL deals and using it as the basis for them to continue to come back. And he isn’t ineligible…he’s out of eligibility as every 22+ year old should be.

OM sure lucked out. Can’t remember who their starter was but doubtful he would’ve done as well as Chambliss
I think we’ll see more FCS and D2 transfers with the expanded rosters. A HS kid that isn’t ready isn’t going to stick around for 3 years to develop.
While I don’t like NIL it does seem to have overshadowed HS recruiting which had gotten out of hand. It’ll be interesting to see what the impact is to HS recruits and if we start seeing fewer of them get signed by P4 programs cause all the emphasis is on transfers.

After OM beat UGA I thought this could end up like State when they won their baseball title. Guy inherits a built teams, back into a title and gets fired 2 years later cause he caught lightning in a bottle and isn’t really a great head coach.
Given Golding didn’t win a title I’m guessing the natives grow restless mid-season next year. I don’t see him sustaining what Lane built.

For the QB crowd. The staff is supposedly all in on KJ so they’re looking for depth.
Good approach. I think they can build around KJ and worry about QB next year worst case scenario. QB market is insane right now and we have way too many other holes to fill.
