If we were to ever "drop down" a level, you would likely see a huge drop in enrollment.

I know you know this, but not all of our students are that studious and serious about their degrees. Big time athletics/campus life is a draw for many students in addition to whatever they're studying.

Thank you, all. These are all very helpful.

These friends are driving up from DFW as they seem to like vacationing in Arkansas quite a bit even though they have no ties to the state (my friend is from N. LA like myself).

Things To Do in Bentonville

A good friend and her husband and their two high schoolers are going to Bentonville during Spring break for a mini vacation and are asking for suggestions. Any ideas? I haven't lived in the area since 2009 and think I only went to Bentonville once while I was there.

She already mentioned Crystal Bridges and Frank Lloyd Wright home. Any other cool ideas? Thanks in advance.
I wish the Rooneys would just sell the damned team. This is the most pissed I've been since they signed Michael Vick.

As a regular listener of the Ticket, I got to hear the Dallas talking heads complain about this guy nonstop and now we hire him when we had the opportunity to hire some innovative young coaches. Just a fricking joke. They've pissed off the fanbase with this.

I learned a long time ago not to get too invested in our athletic program. My first game as a student was a loss to the Citadel.

I've only witnessed one natty ('94) in my lifetime and feel like we're Charlie Brown trying to kick the football most other times.
I'd think being a college coach (even if it's a position coach) would be hell right now with the portal and kids chasing payouts yearly. There is some semblance of an offseason in the NFL.
I wonder what the heck is happening at Auburn with Golesh? I'm sure Auburn has plenty of money and he was thought of as a really good hire.

You just found out?

And an Arkansas fan clocked him, you POS.

really held on until we brought Sam back from 4-8. After that I’ve turned into Arhog. Just laugh at the slop shite we’re fed.

If you really have turned into ARHog, be sure to add the emojis laughing at your own posts.
I'm grateful for his time as coach and that amazing SB win as well as being competitive on a yearly basis, but it was time. I'll always be a Steelers fan first, but will root for him as well if he decides to coach elsewhere.
This idea that Tomlin "has been handed..." or "has no say" in his roster is fricking hilarious. This isn't the damned Cowboys where the coach has no say or power over anything.

Our offense has sucked for years.
it doesn't matter how many times he turns it over, we can't capitalize on it anyway because our offense is dogshit and has been for most of the year.

I understand it's frustrating to lose in-state talent, especially to another SEC school.

Not everyone wants to go to college in their home state. I was an out of state student who chose Arkansas to experience living elsewhere vs. going where everyone else from my high school would be going.

And yeah, our sucking arse over the last several years has hurt us with the better prospects. We haven't been relevant in forever as far as they're concerned.

They tried that with edge where 75 of your 100 was kept by the firm that ran edge.

Then hunter and to little rock and blamed the fans for being poorz.

Yeah, whoever signed off on that deal should have been fired. Good lord that was stupid.

As fior the "poors", the fanbase wasn't willing to invest in Pittman. They didn't see what Ole Miss fans understandably saw in Kiffin. OM fans knew Kiffin would be up for openings yearly and wanted to prove that he could build a contender there. No one ever felt that way about Pittman.
And this is why it's infuriating that Hunter's still here. We're reactive instead of being forward-thinking and proactive. I wish they had the balls to fire him but evidently they don't.

Ole Miss's collective isn't just funded by a couple of rich alums. It's much more grass roots. A friend of mine's an Ole Miss alum and he donates $100/monthly. There are lots of other fans just like him who donate like that and that's why they have been setup for success. They don't have to depend on just a few rich donors and their whims.

Because he's going to screw us. Might as well get familiar.

I get it. We've all been made cynical by an inept athletic department and the decision makers, but why not just wait and see how it plays out first before deciding he's Morris 2.0?

Why do we keep playing these ridiculous away games with our SEC schedule that are guaranteed losses?

Because we're a stupid program that has hired shitty ADs. We should have been scheduling cupcakes knowing what a weak sauce program we have. Scheduling Notre Dame, Utah, trying to schedule Michigan, etc. is just idiocy.

So, you go from saying it never happens to now saying to just check out other subs?

Subreddit moderators decide what gets banned and it happens in every sub.

I have always wondered if there was more to what went on with Catalon than has been told.

He was a serial portal jumper. I have no idea if he had issues with Pittman, but c'mon, he played at four different schools.
