You can thank FatBert for that one.

Even still, the avg ranking per commit that we DO have is very respectable.

Long and Bert put us in this position... it remains to be seen whether Morris works us out of it.

How interesting to me to reflect on all the TIME people were willing to give Bert initially... a guy who had no history of taking something and actually making it better.

Are you fricking serious here? Long only gave a damn about Long... piece of shite Bert was incompetent and lazy.

This thread was a good idea. We should be able to see all of our Hawg brethren and sisters post here. Almost like a roll call.

My only concern is the OL. We haven't had one in a while now.

Geez, calm down.

We have a DC and coaching staff. There will be a full announcement soon.

It did? I skipped being excited about that- we just got done with a talker, words will not excite me now, gonna need to see some results when the games come around. I am ready for the dc to be announced, I don't understand the hold up on that at all.

Holy cow lady! You took the words out of my mouth and couldn't have said it better!

I am excited that he is an up energy guy and will be out there running with the kids.

However, like Bert, it means nothing until the proof is there.

My take is he is competent and I'm just a fan who doesn't believe I'm entitled to knowing every single chess move he is making behind the scenes. I'll let him work, make decisions and won't sit around waiting for him to ask me if it is/was the right thing to do.

In other words, it's his Ship. I think I'll let him steer it for the first dang month before I judge.

Folks need to just chill.
Football is football. Blocking and tackling wins games at all levels.

We know Morris has certainly been around more SEC type football than Bielema did. Clemson is about as close to an SEC school as can be and not be. So he should have a better idea than Bielema did about what it's going to take.

Lot of changes going on right now. Things will shake out. Morris is going to try to get (what he considers) the best DC he can.

Time will tell. In the meantime, there's nothing we can do but chill, wait, and see.

It isn't fatBert's fault the Morris hiring didn't create a momentous excitement that lead to and above average recruiting class as seen with the hiring of Nutt, Petrino, and Bert by the program.

All of the above were changes in philosophy from the previous regime.

Morris will have to do what the couldn't, improve recruiting as time goes on, shouldn't be hard with the bar being set last in the sec and mid pack in the sunbelt.

Oh, I think a large percentage of whatever's 'wrong' with our football program can be attributed to FatBert.

Pretty much the rest can go to Long.

In no way was the Arkansas football program a Porsche when Bert was hired unless you're talking about this Porsche.

To be fair, Bret’s recruiting rankings were better than pretty much any coach we’ve had in the modern era. Dude just could not develop SEC players.

It was definitely a Porsche when Long gave the keys to Smiley after running Petrino off.

No, it wasn't... Petrino hadn't recruited well for 2 years. The last two classes overall, considering attrition, were mustang 6 cylinder at best.
