Bro was really going out on a limb there that a coach would get canned after a 10-22 season.

His record prior to this year seems way too much like a certain other Morris for me to be confident in the hire.

Perhaps it is retardation, but brand names bring the money. See Calipari.
They can also bring situations like Bill Belichick. So it's a fine line to walk.

I hear Cal made the call to Mark Stoops to bury the hatchet and tell him how much he loves Arkansas.

Not gonna lie, it would be a tough pill to swallow if Petrino is hired at one of the other SEC openings. He’d tear it up at Florida or LSU.
I wouldn't sweat that too much. If Bobby doesn't end the season well enough to be our next head coach, that means he didn't end the season well enough to be considered for a high profile job like Florida or LSU. At least in a head coaching role.

Worked out pretty well for Calipari with big money and in year 2 we're national title contenders. Can happen at any time.
Probably not stated the best, but my point was that none of these message board rumors about big money end up being true. If it were to happen, it would be similar to what happened with Cal. We learn about it after the deal is basically done and everyone is caught off guard.
Anything else is just folks looking for attention and/or clicks. Billionaires ain't blowing up a deal by leaking it to Cletus on Hawgballs.com weeks in advance.

This. Every goddamn time we have had a coaching search in any major sport during my lifetime, I've seen "rumor has it that one of the Waltons is now heavily invested in the coaching search".
Call me when that happens.

Yeah, it’s a very strong hurricane. I’m just saying it’s tiny. The hurricane force winds only go out like 30 miles, while Gilbert’s covered most of the island. If the core hits, that spot’s wrecked, but it’s not going to level the whole country. I agree that this new track is very bad for Montego Bay.
I guess I read the statement you shared a little differently than you did. To me, they were saying the portions of Jamaica that get hit will never be the same. Which, as poor as the infrastructure is in some of the areas this is hitting, doesn't seem outlandish. If we're talking about the entire island being wiped off the face of the earth, then sure. That's hyperbole.

Okay. Why?
Because it's the third most powerful storm in recorded history and still strengthening as it enters the island. If some of these estimated wind gusts are correct, you're looking at gusts 50-80 MPH higher than Gilbert, Ivan or Dean had while in Jamaica. Maybe more.
Those were obviously very, very bad. But this is on another level when it comes to a hurricane making landfall while hitting peak intensity. Hopefully the track stays out of Montego Bay.

But this level of doomposting is ridiculous.
In this case, I disagree.

Seems like more of a generational thing to me. We reached the point where we actually became too comfortable as a society. Some semblance of struggle is needed in life to build character. Otherwise, folks just get stuck in a perpetual state of arrested development and never grow up.
