Have we all forgotten about Spring football?

Our spring game is two days away and I haven't seen any posts or heard anything in the news lately. Aggy Bert is flying under the radar.
Anybody been keeping up and want to share info? Will our new QB be as talented as this guy?

I hate spring football. When our offense lights it up I think our D sucks.
When our D is looking tough, I'm convinced the offense sucks.

Also, I haven't seen/heard a word about the switch back to a grass field that is supposed to be happening for this season.
I'm guessing after the spring game they will start to rip up the turf?

Yeah they’re supposed to start the switch after the spring game.

Gonna be terrible again, just a heads up. One reason you haven't seen much spring football coverage is because the team looks so bad.

Along those lines.. Is there media coverage of Saturdays scrimmage ? I see where the SEC network has picked up several of the spring games.. I believe we are at 3.. Channel anyone ?

ESPNU at 3. Chad and players will talk afterwards.

The big news I heard on the radio yesterday about football is that Morris will be scrimmaging the 1s vs the 1s.
They acted excited about that and so I turned the radio off.

Hard earned experience has shown me that spring football is like the Blessing of the Animals. It takes a lot of time and doesn't mean very much.
That DB who made three picks in the Spring Game? His nickname is going to be Toast because of how often he gets beat in real games. That QB who threw for a billion yards? He's going to have that patented deer caught in the head lights look and quite possibly befoul his britches on the first play.
I'll wait for the regular season to get closer when we have all the players on campus before I start to worry about football.

So many players out with injuries it's hard for me to get excited. Only thing I would be interested in is seeing how the QBs and guys like Trey Knox look.

Typically the defense is ahead of the offense this time of the year. So I watch these with that in mind. I'd like to see if Hicks can throw the deep ball with any accuracy and see if these new receivers can get any separation.
Other than that its just a fun diversion.

Yep i have figured out over these years that you just do not learn much ffom spring unless one guys name keeps popping up. Like brandon 2015.
The only thing from this spring i know for sure is knox is a good player, and will help us this fall. Outside of that not much has changed. Also eric Gregory will see some PT.
I look for us to suck until next year atleast.

The truth is both of these are correct.
Team is going to suck again, not surprisingly.

Starkel could come in and light things up, who knows. From what I've seen of Hicks, he's not SEC starting quarterback material.

Could we make a bowl game next season? That’s honestly all I’m hoping for

He never was! Storey left, and we panicked and took hicks. Then sparkel fell into our laps thankfully. I never wanted hicks. Then i warmed up to maybe his experience will help the offense grow. I am now back to thinking he is garbage.

But he knows the offense!
That means a lot in the film room man.

I don't think ya'll are giving Hicks enough credit.
Talking to Craddock at the state coaches clinic he was VERY excited to have Ben back. He said it opened the entire playbook for them where last year they were somewhere around 25-30%.
The coaches think he is the guy for sure. They know a lot more than we do.

I think the big issue right now is all the injuries. Apparently Hicks couldn’t do anything at practice the other day in the open period because they patchwork OLine he’s behind right now was awful.
