Agree. I think he beats out Hicks right out the gate.

If he doesn’t we’re in for another abominable season I’m afraid.

The downside of this offense. You need a trigger man to make it work. Trying to get by with a game manager type QB is not going to work.

It was against Tulsa, one of the few teams that was much, much worse then us, but Connor Noland was the only QB I saw last season that looked like he had all the pieces to run the Morris system.

If Starkel can do it we will have a fighting chance in quite a few games. If he can't its going to be a loooong season.

Georgia lost to Vanderbilt in Kiby’s first year, and damn near lost to I-AA Nichols State with far superior roster talent than what Chad was left in Fayetteville.

Georgia went 8-5 in Kirby's first year. Chad led Arkansas to the worst season in program history. Not even comparable.

Georgia had much superior talent with Richts' recruiting than we had with Da Bert.

And was beaten fairly soundly in the game to boot. One of the few times Bert got off his fat arse and coached.

Yes, Georgia had superior talent and won a lot more games. What point do you think you're making?

Our oline wasn't good, but our lack of speed was obvious.

This is being addressed and I'm willing to give Morris a chance as long as recruiting stays decent.

That same "shite talent" won twice as many games with Bielema though. You're saying Chad is worse than Bert.

If Chad was trying to run the exact same system as Bert, you would have a point.

Yes, it was the system that caused Chad to keep playing Cole Kelley against North Texas after he already threw three interceptions. The system caused Chad to punt on 4th and inches against Colorado State. Come on man.

It's stupid to compare Kirby and Chad's first years. Kirby had a decent season and won a bowl game, Chad had the worst season in the history of the program. We've had "shite talent" plenty of times in the past and never lost 10 games.

I feel like I need to say this to you as well constantly. I was one of the posters on here taking some heat for calling Morris out after the Colorado St game. You don't have to tell me about the mistakes he has made last season.

The problem with your line about 'That same "shite talent" won twice as many games with Bielema though.' is that you know there are other factors involved in this. Come on man, a major change in system is another huge hurdle besides just the "shite talent".

Eh, it wouldn't be a comparison I used but I also don't agree with how you have framed it as well.

I don't know if you can ever really recreate the same situation though. An extreme shift in offensive systems, having some of our worst talent at the most important position of this system, very tough division, players clearly not buying in, lack of depth.

Bottom line for me is that there is clear blame for Morris and the players. I don't agree with anyone trying to place whole blame on one side or the other. Not speaking to you necessarily but some people have never liked Chad and will always fail to give him the benefit of the doubt. I didn't like the hire at the time either, I believe at one point on here I said he was my 4th or 5th choice. That being said, I'm going to give him a chance and recognize the 2 wins isn't as simple as him being a bad coach.

I really doubt Storey would have been much better, he had just thrown 2 INTs the week prior. Not really a point in switching out QBs when you get the same results either way. Every QB who saw the field that day threw one.

Exactly, some were saying that if Chad had started Cole in the Colorado St game we would have won. There was this seesaw of neither QB being able to prove they should be named the starter. That North Texas game was just terrible from all angles. I'm not going to put the coaches all in on that.

That being said, I 100% agree with stone on the CSU game. I think you can put almost all blame on coaching staff for that. They coached a little too scared at a big point in the game and it cost us. Play calling in general was off in the 2nd half when we had success running the ball.
