We have a better chance with a low rated guy out of Texas than we do a super 4 star from Arkansas.

At least when they're getting that rating while beating up on 2-3A Arkansas ball, yeah. If there's a 6-7A guy, maybe I change my tune, but the small time kids out of this state aren't exactly locks to produce.

8 of the NFL starters in week 1 last year were from Texas High Schools. You had to go through 4 roster cycles just to name 3 QBs that couldn't even make it in the league and the most successful of the three at the position, Ryan Mallett, went to a Texas High School.

Stop.

This!!!!

Guys like Baker Mayfield (a fricking walk on) Texas

Johnny football actually was a 3*, and if not for his off field issues could have been a good qb.

Ryan mallett played football in Texas. Just was an arkansans at heart. So fricking stop.

We are talking about Razorback Football not the NFL. Some of OUR best QBs have been Arkansans.

Tyler Wilson Arkansas
Ryan Mallett Texas (by way of Arkansas)
Brandon Allen Arkansas
Clint Stoerner Texas
Matt Jones Arkansas
Joe Ferguson Louisiana
Scott Bull Arkansas
Ron Calcagni Ohio
Barry Lunney Jr. Arkansas
Austin Allen Arkansas
Brad Taylor Arkansas

only 2 players from Texas on that list.... but I guess you can add Casey and Nathan if you want.

However, the point remains that if Chandler had moved to Fayetteville that the majority of ya'll would be pissed.

Ya'll defend our fanbase but the truth is the vast majority have the buzz caller mentality.

The same ol crap mentality of "hogs gonna hog"----- look what the Razorbacks do to me bs.

The fans who believe that Pepsi over Coke is a athletic department decision. The fans who scream "muh taxes" despite the Razorbacks being self sufficient. The fans who care entirely too much about the uniforms. The fans who tell players to shut up and play ball---- and who are tired of whiners but then turn around and bitch about the Razorbacks wanting to play home games on campus. The fans who think Bert and Long started the slow pull of games from little rock - when in fact it was Broyles who started to pick the wound. Frank knew that we had to move games to our campus back then but people act like it's a recent phenomenon.

Is Morris a freak athlete like Mayfield or Manziel?

Hopefully.

We're talking about getting the best players at the position. Of course the University of Arkansas is going to have a lot of QBs from Arkansas. That doesn't mean that's the best place to go looking when you have better access than most to the best QB hotbed in the country.

Except it's not really going anywhere because no one in this convo even agrees with his buzz caller strawman. Every fanbase has casual fans that don't follow closely but think they have all the answers. That's not exclusive to this fanbase.

I feel like you’re talking about 6 different types of fans here.

I don't even listen to the buzz..Hilltop was on a roll.

ETA: 2-10 broke me. And if that didn't do it, They took our tailgating spot from us. Not once, but twice in 20 years.

They promised us another premium spot for the same money, so far BFS.

I get growth and new roads, but damn, not our tailgating spot.

PS Jeff Long isn't here anymore

:Rant Over:

carry on

That's exactly the point. He's flaming out over a portion of the fanbase that gets next to no traction here. Just a weird rant to go on here of all places.

Moving traffic in the offseason after 2 and fricking 10

Season tickets sales are down 38 %. Chadillac has work to do to get us outta the Bert cellar.

Shitty home schedule has fans not interested thanks to tWardump deal..

To be fair, this is after every coach's first year. It was what we heard with Petrino's first year. That's what Nebraska is hearing about Scott Frost's first year. Hell, that's what Bama was saying after Saban's first year.

At the end of the day, it's the correct approach. Whether it actually pans out or not is another story all together.

That isn't the fault of Arkansas though. We would have had Michigan coming to our house this year but they cancelled at the last minute and left us hanging.

It is a crappy schedule, I can't deny that, but for once we aren't the ones at fault for it. Put Michigan in there at Fayetteville and people would be thrilled with the schedule.

This was all true then for the most part and is true now. I think you are confused on why people mention those "excuses". They don't do it to prove that Morris is a great coach. They do it so that we can see that there is more to him than just his first year win total. It doesn't have to one extreme of "Chad sucks or Chad is great". He could just be average at best but we need time to establish that.

Well Matt Jones was from Arkansas so was Tyler Wilson and Ryan mallet was from Texarkana now which side of the line he lived on idk but to say you can’t get good qbs out of Arkansas just because storey was a bust is a bit of a stretch
