I was thinking about Waine Bacon today, and it got me thinking, who are some of your favorite underrated players that seem underappreciated?

I remember Bacon was just a REALLY solid safety, and didn't seem to get a ton of praise. But he was a part of some solid defenses for Franchione.

Robert Lester. I believe he was a walk-on, but when it was his time to shine he put on for the #251.

Of the last 15 years it'll either have to be Darius Hanks or Eryk Anders.

Lester wasn't a walk-on.

Levi Wallace was a player I never thought was going to be as good as he eventually became.

Nick Gentry comes to mind. He was a menace in the natty against LSU.

Norwood was good; one of the few Bama players to win three national championships. Somehow always made the big catch and I don't think he ever dropped anything.

There are a number of them. I’ll add Dalvin Tomlinson.

Can I say Javier Arenas? The dude wasn’t highly recruited, but was a game changer…

On this year’s team: Jaheed Campbell and Tim Keenan

DB Cyrus Jones
WR DeAndrew White
WR Darius Hanks
WR Cam Sims
NT Jesse Williams
DE Nick Gentry

Maybe Ar'Darius Stewart? He did receive a 1st Team SEC I think though.

Someone I never heard talked about is how good DQ Menzie was for us. He was lockdown.

LB Christian Harris is one that folks may say was underrated. He is doing pretty good with the Texans, right now.

In those early years especially, players like Menzie were huge. I don't really recall him getting beat and he was a huge part of one of Bama's best D's.

Jalston Fowler

Brad Smelley

These guys came to work each game and left all on the field. Would be nice to have some guys like this blocking in the backfield going forward.
