re: BOB named HC at Boston College....

I mean he did a good job at Penn State in the brief time he was there. 8-4 and 7-5 when they were going through the sanctions and pedo stuff, and won coach of the year. He's also from the area. I actually think this is a home run for BC, especially considering it's BC. ...
This all the way. The Michigan front 7 vs. the Washington OL was a mismatch. Washington's OL last year was good. Michigan's physicality, talent, and experience last year in their front 7 was elite. It was not unlike Alabama front 7's from about 2009-2012. ...

They play Texas, USC, Oregon, @Washington, @Ohio State, @decent Illinois on the road, improved Michigan State, not at all bad Fresno State, all with a completely depleted roster and a first year head coach it appears. I don’t care if Michigan is good or not. It’s not “wishful thinking” looking a...

Their losses are not unlike TCU's from 2022 to 2023, or FSU's from 2023 to 2024. Probably a 6-6 or so year for them, if they're lucky. Everything came together for them for one season, and now they will take a big step back unless they make an absolute slam dunk hire....
Michigan loses nearly their entire starting roster. They also have perhaps the most difficult schedule in the Big Ten, with USC, Texas, @Washington, Oregon, @Ohio State, as well as trap games. They are a 7-5 squad next year regardless of who takes over so it might not be the worst time for them to g...
It's not about preventing players from making money, at all. That's not what I'm saying. On the contrary, I'm happy players are profiting from a game that they put their bodies on the line for, and that is a money making machine. What I'm saying is currently this is the "wild west" era of the NIL...
They had no money stashed away to keep players, is that what you're saying? That is the only thing that would have kept the players that we lost. That is the only damage control that could have been done. Literally. It's all about money. These players are cashing in on a small window when people are...

re: This year likely hurts

@Wisconsin, @Oklahoma, Georgia, @Tennessee, @LSU, Mizzou. South Carolina and Auburn are not pushovers. In a transition year I 100% see 4 potential losses there, easily. I would wager to bet that is the toughest road schedule in the country. Georgia and Mizzou at home is the pre-season #1 and pre-...
Me too. And what’s happening to Bama is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s getting exponentially worse each season. Killing off the PAC 12, these ridiculous alliances like Cal and Stanford in the ACC, the almost unwatchable nature of some broadcasts where commercials take up 50-60 minutes of a sin...
Heupel looks unwell to me. I can't believe he's only 45. ...
If this is the case Alabama is a 9-3 type of program in the SEC. Being a non-elite talent program does not work in the SEC. It just doesn't. It works in the ACC, Pac 12 (RIP), Big Ten to an extent, etc. It doesn't work when 6 of the Top 12 teams in recruiting are in the same conference. Alabama's go...
Oregon, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Notre Dame, and Mizzou all had Top 20 offenses and defenses. SMU had the 27th rated offense and 35th rated defense. SMU would get manhandled by all of those teams... YPG is not an accurate measure of defensive and offensive ability. Washington's D was...

I don't think Rees is a horrible OC (albeit a generic one), but this is a night and day improvement in terms of experience and quality. ...
What is this thing about his recruiting? The guy was impressive enough to Michael Penix to get him to transfer to UW before he ever won a game there. He also got Mississippi State's running back Dillon Johnson and he was a 1100 yard rusher for them last year. That's just their backfield; I'm sur...

He's an excellent coach. Bama could not have done better. I was worried about a situation where a legit great coach would not want to follow Saban, but we managed to land just that. Beyond thrilled....
Oh my god this brings me back. I was also banned by that POS that only speaks with elipsis. Every damn sentence ends in an elipsis. Tide Fans is sooooooo bad ...

As a Saints fan, it's brutal. ...
Dude Milroe was not some freshman project QB in 2023 like Jalen Hurts (for example) was. That was his third year at QB at the college level and that is the QB that he is. I will be very surprised if DeBoer settles on Milroe after having Jake Haener and Michael Penix the last 4 years. ...

re: How Happy Is Oregon?

Posted by PhoSho86 on 1/12/24 at 6:46 pm
What's funny is Oregon also opened up against DeBoer's Fresno State in 2021, and needed to come from behind to win 31-24, and prob would have lost if not for 3 fumbles. He has truly been hounding them. ...
He's a winner. LOVE it. He's won everywhere he's been and will win at Alabama. ...
