I know a few as well man. It's all good to me. I've been married almost 40 years. Only reason I went and got it is because my wife was on me and sometimes you gotta punt. These guys on here saying shaming people that haven't gotten the vaccine is a good thing are garbage. You clowns ain't gonna shame anyone in person.

I got simply because I was teaching and exposed to 400+ young kids that were potential carriers and so didn’t want to expose my parents and my wife, who is a diabetic. I wish I hadn’t now though. There is just so much disinformation out there that it’s next to impossible to feel comfortable about either side. One side claims 90+% of all hospitalized are unvaccinated, while I have heard first hand that at UAB, it is actually the vaccinated that make up so many of the cases. To me, it should be personal choice and leave it at that. If you believe the mask helps you, then by all means wear the damn thing, but don’t force it on everyone!!

Hey, no one answered my question……

How do we label the folks that wanted the “vaccine” but were unable to get it on doctor’s orders.
Do we need stars of David on our shirts to make people happy, or what would do it? What if I can’t get it, will folks still throw stones at me??? This is a very very dangerous place that folks are putting down their flag. It has no place in the constitution

Or intelligent enough to realize vaccinations aren’t the be all end all, but it’s sure as hell better than doing nothing.

Not for people under 30. The difference is negligible, at best.

This is stupid, and I think they are setting themselves up for legal repercussions. They are not shielded from the vaccine passport law passed by our state government. The only way they can enforce any of those things on unvaccinated kids is to ask for some sort of verification of vaccine status, which is a violation of that law. If they do that, I hope someone takes them to court.

The "Sweden" example mainly just identifies someone that is "cherry picking" data with little regard for a truer, bigger picture (or only reading articles that do so).

Cherry picking would be only comparing them to their immediate neighbors instead of putting their numbers in context with the entire world.

Not cherry picking would be not effacing the information which doesn't fit the narrative you want to push. But you know that.

Want to push "lockdowns don't work": then cherry pick "Sweden reports zero deaths"

Want to push "lockdowns extremely effective": then cherry pick "Sweden still 10 times more deaths than Denmark"

Sadly, there's only a small minority who actually want somewhat objective view because it will be complex, nuanced and won't perfectly fit any political gotcha point. It's more difficult.

I personally only give serious attention to arguments that are willing to confront the facts/stats that seem most contradictory to their points.

I don’t exactly take issue with them and my wife is among those unvaccinated, but I think we’d be well on our way past this if everyone had chosen to be vaccinated

Because I'm ready to put this whole thing in our rearview mirror, and the safest and easiest way to do that is through vaccination. And I'm sick of seeing the ignorant and selfish reasons for not getting vaccinated. It isn't solely to protect you, but also your family, neighbors, and community. It's not a coincidence that areas with higher vaccination rates aren't seeing the caseloads areas with lower vaccination rates are.

And yes, after a year of being shamed for following and advocating CDC guidelines(just look at a couple of comments in this thread about me wearing 2 masks - something I've never done), I'm going to shame those that choose to not get vaccinated for selfish or ignorant reasons. Frick their feelings.

How am I protecting my family, neighbors and community if I am vaccinated and still transmitting the virus?

Sure, my illness may not be as severe, but I'm still infectious.

Because it reduces your viral load. I forget the exact number, but I want to say studies showed it reduced it by as much as 50%. If those family, neighbors and community members are also vaccinated, that reduces the risk of spread even more. If they're not, well, just look at what is happening in areas with lower vaccination rates.
