About 32 more hours is my guess.

Because Auburn getting to play in front of a home crowd wasn't reward enough for a disappointing season. Can't wait til they play Drake in the S16 for the right to take on Kennesaw State for a trip to the FF.

They are the luckiest a-holes I’ve ever seen in my life. Fall into a pile of dung and come out smelling like a rose bush.

Agreed. I don't mind Auburn going to the sweet sixteen if it takes Houston off the board. Even if they win, they still suck.

Auburn will regress to their mean in 3-point shooting in some game. Broome is playing really good basketball right now though, so the team that catches them when they shoot like they have all season will need a post presence to neutralize him. Even Cardwell played well last night. Houston matched up really well with them with their big, physical guards, but who knows now with their injuries.

agree. always nervous about the games.

Some good things to think about though-Maryland only went 8 deep with only one bench guy scoring 5 points. Their front court guys are 6'8" and 6'9" and the one front court sub is only 6'7" (he's the one bench scorer). Maybe we can hurt them inside with lobs, lay ups and put backs. Also, the one WV guy that hurt Maryland was the point guard. Hopefully that means Q can have a big game. And I have to believe that Miller will get it going too.

We just need to value the ball and take good shots.

Alabama's Bench Brigade Stays Ready (SI)

When players are dealing with foul trouble, and Brandon Miller has a poor performance, the Crimson Tide has several reserves prepared for an opportunity.

I stumbled on an article from tennessean.com with the perfect UT headline...

If Tennessee basketball keeps surviving March Madness, it'll be the ugly way

It's opening is really all you need to read, but it's a perfect description of them (especially without Ziegler...

So far, so … good?

Well, no. This wasn't good. Wasn't bad, either.

I’d call it routine, actually. Quintessential Tennessee basketball in 2022-23.

Or as coach Rick Barnes told CBS cameras after surviving the first round of the NCAA Tournament, “Not very pretty, but we found a way to get it done. Defensively, we were really good.”

That’s Tennessee's season, folks, narrowed down to 17 words.

I knew that Auburn would beat Iowa last night. The barn has better athletes than them. Houston is a physical bunch though. Will be interesting to watch.

Listen to a few minutes of last night's Field of 68 podcast. That'll calm your nerves better than a good joint.

We're going to need to score more inside against them because they've got good length to affect shots on the perimeter. Sears will be guarded by a 6'5" dude. Miller will have a 6'8" guard on him. Need a big game from Clowney and Chuck.

Last time Miller had a 6’8 guard on him (Kobe Brown), he had a double double (20-12-4).

Yeah their guards did post up down low a lot yesterday, especially with that one WVU guy(Little I think was his name)on the bench with foul trouble.

They've got good perimeter length but WV went 8-19 from three against them. It just depends on good spacing, ball movement and driving the ball effectively to create more space and put pressure on their front court guys. WV really struggled scoring in the lane and with the mid range shots. I think we can score inside much better than WV did.

That is one thing I don't think we have to worry about. Maryland's bigs are not three point shooters. They won't pull our big guys out onto the perimeter. Our front court guys can be in help position for any guard post up attempt.

We will need Q to be smart and not get into foul trouble though. We are going to need his driving capability.

Maryland/WVU was a great basketball game yesterday, but my takeaway from watching it in person was that neither of those teams were equipped to beat us if we play a C+ or better basketball game.

West Virginia's length bothered Young a ton out front, but West Virginia wasn't long inside and Maryland was able to exploit that with their bigs. West Virginia took about 10 minutes worth of truly horrible shots to end the game, most of them by Stevenson. He's a great spot up 3 point shooter but he took 5-6 side step/step back/fade away mid-range and 3s that were just awful (and not in his arsenal).

However, Maryland is a well coached, tough arse team and they won't shrink away. We will have to play 40 minutes of disciplined basketball.

And I have no idea what Iowa's plan is on offense. They were not good at all.

not sure this type of injury is one you get over quickly.

Groin injuries can take weeks/months. He has world class trainers and cutting edge treatment, but this is honestly a much bigger deal than most of our fans want to acknowledge. Could easily be the difference in a Final Four run and an early exit. Hope they can get him right, maybe rest him some this weekend if we can win without him, and get him ready for the Sweet 16. Playing him just enough to keep it irritated is about the worst thing possible IMO.

Yea I think we really don't know. It's certainly not the type of injury you want at this point in the season when are you playing tough games in tight windows, because it is the definition of a recurring type injury.

It doesn't sound like Brandon's is as serious as this, but just look at Sasser.
