It all depends on how the officials call games. Miller has been getting absolutely assaulted and the officials aren't calling fouls.
I think this is highly correlated to the 3P shooting issues.
Teams saw they could grab and body on the perimeter without getting fouls called and it’s impacting the open looks and rhythm of the offense, particularly Sears (short) and Griffin (doesn’t like contact).

I don't want any part of a Memphis rematch
In all honesty, I cannot think of a single team that I "want". We have shown the capacity to blow teams like Kentucky, LSU and Vanderbilt off of the floor as well as the capacity to struggle mightily against South Carolina as well as LSU and Arky in late season games.
In reality, our guys have not shot the ball well outside of the Georgia game during most of the second half of the season. They have still won, which is a real testament to their grit and ability. This team is indeed super resilient, having come back from deficits of 15 points or greater midway through the second-half twice and won the game. I don't see them collapsing in the tourney because some other team comes out hot and gets a lead.
I do, however, see them struggling with confidence shooting the ball. Some of that may have to do with dead legs. I think a lot of it has to do with off the court distractions. I also think a significant amount of it has to do with our lack of experienced veteran starters. The drop off in offensive production means that games may be a lot closer than we would like and could put most any team within reach of beating us.
Let's hope the time-off this week has helped to cure some ills. If this team shoots like it is capable, I don't know if anyone can keep up with them.

We're entering a brand new season, with quite a few days off to rest up physically and mentally, here's hoping we get out of our shooting slump. If the 3's start falling again, we're going to be incredibly tough to eliminate.
Miss St, imo, would be a perfect team to start against in the SECT to see where our heads are at. We struggled with them both times in the regular season, a double digit win will give me a lot of confidence for the rest of the month.

Miss St has the bigs that give us trouble and they play good defense. They completely shut down tamu, and didnt let them shoot free throws. If we dont hit some threes, it will be a struggle.

We finished the season with the best 2 pt FG % against defense in the country, FYI.
Only had 4 games where the opponent broke 50% from 2PT (Gonzaga 62%, State 56%, Oklahoma 54%, S Carolina 51%).

At least 3 of those 4 games were ones where the opponent hit an absurd midrange percentage and bent analytics over.
The Gonzaga game was especially ridiculous. They hit nothing but midrange shots and floaters, and I kept thinking that eventually they'd miss a couple.

Yep, but at least they are a great offensive team with a lot of great scorers, so it at least kind of was in the realm of reasonable possibility.
South Carolina made the same level shot and they are a horrid mid range shooting team

A&M did their damage by getting to the free throw line. Doug Shows should never be allowed to call an Alabama basketball game.

To be fair, A&M is the #3 team in the country at getting to the line. Them shooting a lot of free throws is the norm. And we are #238 in free throw rate defense, so we foul a lot.
That combo was always gonna lead to a bunch of A&M free throws.

If we get bumped to a #2 seed, they've completely ignored SOS:
Houston 49
UCLA 41
Purdue 31

USC had roughly 24 pts that game off of absolutely ridiculous garbage town shots. They even hit 5 3's that were complete prayers. Simply idiotic shots that I would have been benched for even attempting in high-school.

We're Top 4 in every type of category
- average of wins/losses
- Quad best wins/worst losses
- advanced metrics (KenPom)
If we're not a #1 seed then it's directly tied to the off court stuff, and I don't think that's gonna happen.
