So Houston didn't jump us. Nice.
I’ve been looking at brackets all day long. Have not seen one yet with Houston above us. I’m shocked, but very very happy to see that. The only shot they have at jumping us now is we lose our first game on Friday and then Houston wins their conference title

Nate Oats on "Hey Coach" tonight: "Today was a lot of skill [in practice], just getting back to us, being good at who we are. We got a lot of shooting up. We opted not to do a clean-up on the A&M game. ... If we play them again, we'll clean up that."

Oats: "I didn't want to make it too negative. We've had a great year. It's a new season. We got to get our minds right, we've got to get back to playing well, shooting the ball well, get our energy back right. I thought today's practice was good."

The fact a lot of our fans are concerned and how the media/other fan bases are already predicting an early exit for Bama makes me feel better actually. Please keep doubting us.

UCLA was in the play in game for the 11 seed and playing bad ball two years ago...then went to the Final Four.

I’m feeling incredibly optimistic but I’d also like to pull a great draw. That’s what it’s all about. Getting a 1 seed is huge. It’s a big deal.

Anyone have thoughts on what 8 or 9s we would want to see? Which we wouldn’t?

Unfortunately, that's a very real possibility and the committee doesn't base their decisions on Lunardi's bracket. It's nice to check out but it doesn't factor into their decisions.

We've got to shoot much better Friday or we probably won't win. First time we played them, we shot 38% from three. Second time, at home, we shot 13% from 3 and only won by 3. I have to believe we shoot better after some rest.

Iowa might be a good match up for us. Don't want to see Memphis. I feel like they will put Memphis in our bracket for the rematch.

If you take stock in Lunardi's bracket, he has an SEC team in every 8/9 game except Bama's bracket. He has Illinois and West Virginia in ours. If an SEC team does make 3 of the four 8/9 games, we will get the one without an SEC team. USC and NC State could play themselves into an 8/9 game with a couple of wins in their conference tournaments.

Of the current non-SEC 8/9s in Lunardi's bracket I think I'd probably be most comfortable drawing FAU or Maryland. I don't want any part of a Memphis rematch, so I'm sure that's who our round 2 game will be against.

All of them seem pretty good. Where are the Anthony Grant type bubble teams that we watched for 4 consecutive years?
