Hoping they win the SECT and make the point moot.

Someone needs their voting ability rescinded. Absolute clown behavior.

Yes, it is true. We ran into a perfect storm type of ending to season. Typically bad offenses were suddenly all world and our offense was equally atypically bad. Yet, they won was it 5 of 7? By all rights a normal team probably wins 2 or three of those 7.

SOG: Yes, A&M gets to the line a lot, but that doesn't excuse the sliding while the ball handler is in mid-air charge calls or giving three shots to a shooter when the defender had his hand completely on the other side of the ball to block the shot.

Edit to say, let's give the refs the missed goal-tending. That was close and a bang-bang call.

Yea agree, but road whistle against a team that is good at finding fouls is gonna get a few of those. The biggest thing is A&M made 26/27 at the FT line (pretty incredible).

We would have shot more of them too if we'd come out and tried to get downhill the 1st half like we did the 2nd half.

South Carolina made the same level shot and they are a horrid mid range shooting team . One of the most absurd things I've ever seen

The cocks certainly rose up and played hard.

I haven't looked, but despite going downhill more in 2nd half, pretty sure we went to the line fewer times.

Officials are human.. I think they sometimes call fouls based on reputation. Everyone knows A$M goes to the line a lot.. I think they get calls based on that sometimes

Even with a loss on Friday we are definitely on the 1 line.

Rocco Miller is one of the most accurate bracket guys out there and he was just on jox...he said there's zero chance Bama isn't a 1 seed. We're a lock.

I've stated this before, history tends to show that the committee doesn't do a lot with conference tournaments, other than the unexpected winners that wouldn't have made it.

Basketball Film Room

Posted this on BOL but thought I'd share here as well. Pretty good stuff breaking down our offense. It's interesting and sheds light on how we run our style.

Good point. Definitely didn't get much help there.

That's style of play once again. They packed the paint and we tried to make them pay from 3. When you aren't driving and attacking you aren't going to get calls.

I still wasn't happy with the calls on Miller. The charge was crap and would have been called a block/and 1 if the jerseys were swapped. Also I still think the foul on Wade at the 3 pt line was BS too. Miller is 6'9 and blocked the shot of a 6'0 player...it appeared to be all ball from my view. Shouldn't have been called.

Don't forget the goaltending in between those fouls they missed.

That's a really cool link. Thanks. I see a lot of our system in the Princeton system.

Apologies for the non-tide related content below but pretty good article from cbssports on Timme if you have a few minutes. Made me like him a little more.

I've always liked Timme. I know many don't like him and aren't fans of his "special treatment" but I respect his game. I love watching him play.

It seems rare that officials actually penalize players for flopping with the ball. These officials like Doug Shows get clowned by the likes of Wade Taylor, Windell Green, or Scottie Pippen, Jr. and seem to not realize they’re earning a terrible reputation as jokes.

If anyone watched SEMO vs. TN Tech the other night, the officials called each team for an offensive foul for extending their legs on 3pt shots. While the calls were a little iffy, it was nice to see officials who called something to put a stop to a behavior, and calling it both ways instead of making a call to effect the game so people know your name.

It’s a shame that his game probably won’t translate to the NBA. His ability to score in a myriad of ways and moves is really beautiful to watch when it’s not vs. Bama!
