Feel like the players have settled down and he as a play claller has settled down and is more comfortable. Haven’t played world beaters as competition, but you can see a difference in how they play, whether the stats reflect it or not and that’s good enough for me.

Also saw on social media how ever since he went to the black vest, Alabama has been on a tear

Number 11 for us has settled down for sure. He isnt the same player he was for the first few games.

He’s done a good job because let’s face it. This defense was bad against bad competition as well. Remarkable progression throughout the season in both sides of the ball. Hopefully we continue to see growth and not a regression.

He admitted to being a little rusty with his play calling. I'd still like to see him bring pressure more frequently.

Kane and the rest of the defensive staff have done a pretty good job considering the amount of pressure and expectations coming into the season.

It's pretty clear guys were still unsure of their reads and 1-2 seconds late early in the season, and then we had to play a Vanderbilt team that is built to destroy you in that exact scenario, which was horrible timing for us. Things seemed to start clicking somewhat during South Carolina and Wommack also adjusted to start pressuring more.

Ever since then guys up front have been making the right reads quickly and playing really fast. Everybody just seems to know what they are doing and the coaches seem to have a better grasp of what they can do with guys. And it makes everything look much faster and more violent. The hesitation we saw a lot of early on is gone.

When your talent starts playing fast and loose, it makes the DC look a lot smarter. The players understand the scheme a lot better and are playing faster. J Campbell #11 is playing out of his mind right now. He is a one man wrecking ball.

It's always hard to tell if the defense is playing better because of competition or because of getting better.

Bama shut down Missouri, LSU, and Mercer. No question. Oklahoma is next. They don't have a very good offense. Then AU. They are streaky. They have scored 73, 45, and 48 points against P4 teams. They have not scored more than 24 against anyone else. They are ranked 123rd in the country in scoring against conference teams, scoring 16ppg.

I do think the defense is better though. Campbell looks like a different guy. Bray Hubbard has been a revelation. They're attacking and turning teams over. Have they turned a corner? I think so, but we will find out against AU for sure.

Defense looks the best it has in a long time. No complaints at this point- there were clearly some growing pains, but it seems to be working

If Oklahoma or Auburn have good days then we ain't as back as we seem to be on defense.

If Oklahoma and Auburn do about as well as they have all season then we still know nothing.

We're only going to know if this team makes it to a postseason game (SECCG or CFP) and they're playing a credible offense that can run or pass with balance.

I wouldn't get too confident against AU. They are actually very good between the 20's. We may give up more yards/first downs than we are comfortable with. They just seem to shite the bed more often than not, but I wouldn't hold my breath for the Iron Bowl

Last year Auburn ran for 244 yards in the Iron Bowl and had a lead despite Throne going 5/16 for 91 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs.

I expect Bama to play a lot better than that this year.

That was a weird game where Alabama got an early lead and proceeded to fiddle fart around. It allowed Auburn to get momentum and get the crowd into the game.

Alabama was about to blow them out when Jason Autrey and his crew called a holding call on the Kendrick Law speed sweep play. If it goes to 14-0 there it probably ends up being a blowout or solid win with little drama.

Right I had forgotten that penalty. The momentum shifted at that point. Typical for a game at JH.

Auburn has been historically dog shite in Tuscaloosa since 2007 and I don’t see that changing. Auburn doesn’t have the benefit of a graveyard of lost souls of football games long forgotten underneath the stadium to aid them in crunch time away from home.

A brand new coaching staff comes to a program, and after the first handful of games, the team starts to really improve....go figure!

Yes. And also typical for a game called by the Autrey crew. Put the two together, and...

The light must have come on for him. He was an absolute liability on the field a little over a month ago. Now he's unstoppable.
