Hope he shows up wearing black, since he's going to his own funeral.

The biggest risk, IMHO, is the trust Saban had in him when coaches couldn't be around. He did a lot of stuff with kids and had great relationships.

The S&C stuff is at worst a wash and possibly an improvement.

Hope he does well - he was one of the keys that helped make this program into what it is.

I'm good with this. The S&C program hasn't been elite in years. With the rash of injuries the last 4 years, I wouldn't be surprised if Saban told Cochran to look for another job.

I agree the biggest hit we take will be his relationship with players and the inside on Saban. He was the good cop in the role.. I honestly don’t feel we will miss his strength training as new techniques have been developed since him and our players seemed to get pushed around more.

I’m alittle concerned on what he knows and will share will Kirby. Recruiting ect.. Kirby is a slime ball. It’s really pathetic how much he is trying to copy Bama. Kinda funny too.

All that said I don’t blame Scott for taking the job.. on field staff is making bank now and he wants the money. Also let’s be honest Saban won’t be around too much longer and now would be a good time to start a new chapter on your own.

But since he is going to UGA.. frick his annoying arse..lol Yea yea nope

I wonder how good of a recruiter he will be, now that he is a on the field coach. Probably elite.

True, but I think we'd all be pretty upset if he was hired as a special teams coach for Alabama.

What the frick is Kirby doing really?

He really did.. and I think it will be overlooked by a lot of fans. He role in that was vital to keeping players on track and bought into the process. He kept a lot of guys from transferring

If he wants an on the field position, I am wondering why he never stepped up at Bama? Surely, Nick would have made him one if that is what he wanted. Odd he jumping to UGA in that capacity.

I expect him to be a damn good recruiter and expect more bad mouthing of Saban. Kirby is king of it and I expect him to use Scott in that role as well.

Kirby- ask Scott he is retiring in 2 years

It's a weird moment, guy who has been here day 1 with Saban finally gone. His personality helped build up a good portion of "The Process", he's essentially the mascot for it.

Bama overpaid him when Kirby came calling the first time, the Cochran "character" was far overvalued in comparison to purely his work as a S&C Coach.

Sometimes a coach gets stale, and other times a coaching job gets stale. Think it's that crossroad for both parties involved now.

Wish nothing but the best for Cochran, Smart gave him an opportunity that Bama couldn't. Sucks to see him in the SEC coaching against Bama, but
