4.40 official and 1.44 10-yard split per SEC Network.

Ruggs ran a 1.43 10-yard split (and 4.27 40). Chris Johnson has the record for 10-yard split at 1.40. So much for not being explosive...

I remember way back when Mark Ingram having a below average 40 time, but his 10 yard split was best among the RBs. Looking it up now, it was 1.53.

Wild how times have changed, he's not just scootin' for a QB, he's scootin' PERIOD.
I dug back on carries and yards for RBs under DeBoer historically(as a HC or OC post Sioux Falls), and most of his better teams had a higher emphasis on passing and not a lot of "bellcow" RBs with great stats.

2023 Washington(14-1), 2015 EMU(1-11), and 2011 SIU(4-7) were the only times for a single RB under DeBoer to have over 200+ carries in a season, and 2019 Fresno State(4-8) was the last time the offense ran more than they threw (386 to 373).

The offense lives and dies by a 4K passer and a 2-3 headed RB room getting around 100 carries each.

2023 with Dillon Johnson seems to be an outlier, as they really didn't have much after him in the RB room. The 2nd leading rusher had 44 carries to Johnson's 233. For reference, Alabama's 2nd leading rusher in 2024 was Jam Miller, who had 145 carries.

Love the Jordan commercial.

Huff time?

Huff might end up back at Washington, their OL coach(and Pete Carroll's son) was just hired by the Raiders.
I saw it as Grubb and Macdonald had different philosophies, not that either of them were necessarily wrong. The HC will usually win out, as he wanted a more complementary(conservative)offense to his defense.

Sheridan demoted, off the field altogether, or fired?

Saw he removed "Alabama OC" from his Twitter and locked it per my feed.

ETA: Apparently that's not new :dunno:

I'm surprised that he'd address that question.

Having not watched the entire conversation, I do wonder if they edited out any prerequisite Saban had for the sake of the clip?
Great defensive coach, that side of the ball fell off when he got fired.

Obviously the Jets are a mess, but felt at times he was too passive as a coach. Whether that was because Woody kept cutting his legs out from under him(yes), or he really couldn't escape being too much of a player's coach in his first time as a HC.

I absolutely hope he gets another shot as a HC, he's a super likable coach. Hopefully having lived the disaster of the Jets organization is an experience he can learn from.
Didn't see it posted, but '27 AL RB Ezavier Crowell has now reclassified to the 2026 class.

Allar was supposed to be the guy, he just never became more than a decent QB.

I love their OC's scheme coming from Kansas, I think they'll regret not being able to keep their backup QB. Beau Pribola seemed like a better fit, but now he's at Mizzou.
Seems more likely they were testing him, put the backup in the meantime, and cleared it going into halftime.

Since he just drove them down the field and scored a TD :dunno:
I do think DeBoer is more of a player's coach than a disciplinarian, but I think it's more what CFB has become.

One of the things Saban disliked as an NFL HC was the diminishing returns of coaching/discipline towards players making more than the coaching staff. The power dynamic is shifting more that way now in college, they'll still get their money. Whether it's from you, or from another team.

But what’s not understood is why we’re going after someone who couldn’t crack the starting lineup at ULL.

It's hard to convince a starter anywhere to transfer in with the transparency that you might not even be on the 3 deep. You gotta pay for depth now too.

I won't pretend I know much of anything about Washington before today, read he is good in pass pro and comes from a shotgun system.

I think Bama has a budget and a time frame on these depth guys, they clearly didn't wait for that USU RB after other teams got involved and/or he didn't commit on his visit.

I just hope these evaluations Courtney Morgan told us to trust the process on pan out.

Mbakwe is also a massive question for me moving forward. Is he just an athlete without a position at the moment? Could he end up competing with Jones?

From bowl prep, it sounded like Mbakwe is a WR only from what the coaches said.
Terrion Arnold just got carted off, looks like a knee/leg injury.

Detroit has some horrible injury luck in these marquee games this year...
I think they're intentionally being scarce in the portal, accenting the team they have rather than buying a new one.

To avoid relying on freshmen depth, teams have to find journeymen players or upside guys without a lot of experience. That JuCo ruling might get players on that level more shots too.

Whether that's the right or wrong approach, :dunno:

There's still 4 talented teams who have players to poach, plus the entire Spring portal too.
Body language wise, he's been so much more confident stepping up into the pocket. He had a nice little adlib flip to the TE on the game winning drive by rolling out, staying patient and making a play. Pre benching, there were so many times he'd collapse under pressure.

Dave Canales had worked wonders with Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield, so credit to him as well.
