You caught me. I'm an engagement farming troll who's been on the site for thirteen years and has fewer than four thousand posts.

C'mon, man.

Being called a troll is like a badge of honor around here... Just means that you said something the folks with crimson glasses didn't agree with. LOL

Let’s ride. Not sure how this year goes, think anything from 8-4 to 11-1 is possible. But this is definitely the best move for the future. Good shite

That’s me. I know there will be growing pains and mistakes made but for the long term , I think this is the best and only decision . Roll Tide

Look I've gotten downvotes on this forum for saying I've always been impressed by Mack. I hope he doesn't transfer. If he does transfer, I wish him the best. I still think he has chops.

But Keelon Russell is "him." That may chafe some of the bitter enders who don't want a "him" at quarterback, they want a nice, safe Sabanesque game manager handing off to the running backs 50 times a game.

I'll take "him." Again, the potential upside is infinite.

I agree, but if I were him, I'd head back out west next season. If Lincoln Riley gets another shot at USC next season, he'll prob be in the market for a QB1

Mack is good but is unfortunate to never really have had a chance,

I just don't see where people get the impression Mack is anything other than backup quality. I haven't seen it in his limited game reps. Sure, he could transfer to a smaller school...not sure if that'd be the best career move, but I understand wanting to put some starts on tape for scouts. I'm not worried about QB...we've already got a couple of highly rated ones coming after KR.

him

Dude was a 3* committed to SMU and his senior year in highschool everything changed. These posts making him out to be this generational talent based on the minimal snaps he's taken in live action and spring scrimmages are wild.

I want him to do well. I want BAMA to win, but your post just seems like wishcasting. But don't worry. You're not alone.

My big concern with Mack was some trouble with throwing different speeds and arcs from limited play time I saw.

Some similarities to Milroe in that respect

with the way things are going, if mack filed a lawsuit monday he'd proly be allowed to transfer before the first game.

Youre not wrong, but every time i have seen him throw the ball, I feel like im looking at a QB that is really fricking good. He appears to have intangibles that you just cant coach. We could be totally wrong on that to your point, but I havent been this sure that our QB is a Dude since Tua.

So no other player has ever blossomed and improved dramatically in his senior year?

Yes there’s a little wishcasting involved because the reality is that none of us knows with metaphysical certainty what ANYONE we put out there is going to do for us.

I think he’s going to be a generational talent. Would I stake my life on it? No. But it’s no fun being Debbie Downer.

I will say again, and I am not saying you are one of these, there are always going to be people in our fan base who are going to oppose us being a quarterback centric offense on general principles no matter how great the quarterback is.

Those intangibles are what I am talking about.

I wonder about his NIL deal. According to goog its 2.1 to 2.2, would he have to pay it back? Would another team be willing to pay it?

Sure they have. And I am not being a Debbie Downer. I want him to succeed. I want him to be a talent like Tua or better. But to suggest it from a couple scrimmages and almost zero in-game reps is wild to me. Sorry my opinion differs from yours.

Finally it feels like football season.

Let's go!

Hope the O-line can do their job this year.

I’m not asking you to change your mind or telling you that you’re wrong LOL, I’m simply defending my position. I’m discussing which is the point of a discussion board.

We will see shortly.

We saw Mack and Russell play in 2025. I saw Young play a few times in 2020 and it was obvious he would be a great QB for us. I felt the same about Russell's limited action as Tua in the 2017 regular season or Young in the 2020 season. The gifts are obvious imo.

MmHmm. Nobody even heard of KR12 before he won Elite-11. And looking back and saying something is obvious after the fact is simple. If it was THAT obvious then why didn't Tua start over Jalen? Why wasn't it obvious to Saban?

Funny. Neither Tua nor BY won a title as a starter. Now... BY did get robbed by Metchie and Jamo going down in back-to-back games in the postseason.

What does any of that matter? I'm just saying by my eyes - and many others - Russell demonstrated the abilities of a future great like Tua and Young before they got their shot as a starter.
