re: Bama by the Numbers - IU

-This comes down to whether the Big Ten has been so bad in the middle to bottom of the conference that a team like Indiana has exploited bad teams to run out exceptional adjusted numbers because if not they're easily the best team in the nation and really lack any major flaw despite not having elite NFL talent
-I suspect its some of both where they're really good, but not quite as good as the data would suggest because of just how bad some of their opponents have been and they played absolutely no one out of conference that would give us something to baseline them against.

This ^^. This is where stats can be manipulated.

Can you pull out the teams Indiana played that weren't .500 or better. At least try to use teams similar to the teams bama has played.... If possible.
It's a great bowl! I was kinda bummed to miss it today.
Yea... I got no pole time. Wife been dealing with some serious stresses this year and I think it's affecting her drive.
I think we win...if we don't beat ourselves. Indiana really has only faced Ohio State...a very stress free schedule against weak teams. We may be sloppy, but we don't quit. Other than the UGA game, we can get explosive. I think we were injured and sleep walking through seccg.

IF we show up ready to play from the beginning, we win easily. We won't come back from 17 down against Indiana.

But it's a valid question. If OP is so astonished that Kiffin is not coaching LSU in the bowl game that he had to make 2 threads in consecutive days to post about it, surely he could name another coach that got hired onto a new team and started by coaching their bowl game.

I've been looking for an example, but I've discovered something interesting. It seems that coaches of playoff bound teams don't leave to take jobs at lesser teams that only play in meaningless bowls. Makes perfect sense now.
WTF?! That is odd...

He's abandoned two teams in one bowl game season. Has to be a record.
College football, in general, has become a joke. This playoff system is just adding to the mess. Adding more teams will just mean more terrible matchups like these today. The isn't basketball... Realistically, no team outside of 8 will ever win. I'd argue that playing these silly games will more than likely get some key player hurt and damage a team with a shot.

It's all about the money at this point...drag out the season and keep squeezing money out of ads and viewers.
Increasing to 16 teams will create more of these terrible games.

DECREASE to 8 teams.
You got down voted to hell because we won, but had we lost it would be applauded.
Great point... Texas and ND would have brought in huge audience.
Tulane and JMU.... Gtfo..

Nobody wants to see these games.

And only 7 points over the next 3 quarters. LMAO

He was the last to win a Superbowl with the cowboys....

That's how I remember him.

Stop with the 16 teams. 8 is plenty. Nobody outside of 6 is ever winning.
I expect the Indiana game to go about like the game tonight with Oklahoma. We just need to stop coming out with the boring Grubb game plan that put us 17 points down.
