wonder if OU installed a completely new offense in their bye week like they did last year

Their job is to win games. I understand the adjustment period, and that ultimately they may want to get to a different place, but if they need to adjust to make it work, they should. DeBoer wasn't hired for a four-year build. He was hired to win immediately, and the job that he took allows that.

Exactly correct. And in this NIL era, timelines are accelerated.. adapt, overcome, and win.. we're winning, but it's gonna be tough in the playoffs without a good scheme to deal with the lack of run game.

And why are some y'all taking what this one person says as the Bible? I've seen some say it's scheme, others say it's the players. It's probably both... But it all lands on the coach's desk.
This is now the NIL era. The days of recruiting and building a line that grows with you are over. You may very well have different linemen every season. If the excuse is that he just doesn't have his guys, then he'll never be successful at running in the sec. He has to adapt every year to what he has that year.

Big city living... Many rent for their whole lives.
When there is consistent bad performance, blame begins to be on the leadership. In this case, looks kike the O line coach.
Who's to blame when inconsistent is the only consistent theme? We have so much talent that we cover for the mistakes. Truly amazing..
You don't need to steal signals to know what 3 plays Grubb is going to call.

2) Grubb is great at passing but does he genuinely know how to get a good OL coach and establish a real running attack. Grubbs play calls tell me he doesn't understand playing tough ball when we need 1 or 2 yards. And he definitely hasn't installed toughness in the players. We are way too finesse.

Grubb is the OC. The o line coach answers to him. If it isn't working at this point, OC is just as much at fault as the O line coach.

Even if our blocking was good, play calling gets real trashy at multiple times in a game. Makes no sense where grubb calls at times.
So... What I'm seeing is: Bama defense is better that Aggie.

competent running game is an essential part of DeBoer’s and Grubb’s offense

Is it though? I didn't think Grubb ran the ball much previously. I haven't looked up any stats though...
Interesting stat:

"Alabama running backs now rank 129th in yards per rush (3.9) and 134th in first downs per rush (15.5%)."

So why keep trying to run on first? It's a wasted down and usually puts us in 2nd and 12. We don't have to be a run first team.

What would y'all do here? What are your thoughts on the idea that you have to establish a run? Or do you simply need to be able to sneak in a few run plays to keep the defense honest?

Prediction: If we come out and beat the s**t out of Oklahoma next week and Ty looks like a Heisman candidate and we have a bunch of plays that work, people here will be wanting to ride Grubb around Tuscaloosa on a sedan chair.

Odds are that this isn't happening... It'll be a grind like every other game.

It's a win...but it felt like a loss
Should definitely start a petition to get the o love coach removed end of season
I just can't get over how bad the offense has become. They get worse every week.
What's worse than jam running on first, but ty running on first

have thought DeBoer has reverted back to his pre FSU demeanor the last couple of weeks. Offense has taken on that identity.

Maybe he's low T and he's off his meds
