To me it never really looked like they were unmotivated or not practicing hard. Ty seemed to be doing well in the leadership role although I never saw him get vocal during the game like he did at practice. He just seemed to keep to himself the entire time same for the defense I didn’t see a single one of them check each other not one time.

Sounds like they were just hyping themselves up and folded like a cheap suit the instant they faced a little adversity.

Proctor had tons of potential coming into Bama, but just seems to lack the drive and work ethic that would have made him an elite OT. He’s been living off of the hype. Agree with you that it’s time to give Jackson Lloyd and Michael Carroll a game time shot at the job. Proctor’s pass protection just isn’t good enough.

What’s the Ty-son saying…”Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face”

Proctors NFL Future, if he has one, is at guard. he can move people in the running game at guard and has a much better chance to pass protect effectively there. If we have tackles on the roster with better feet young or not, the future is NOW.

If proctor wants to play football for a living he needs to beg for a spot at guard.

He’s still a massive, strong human being. I think he could be a really good guard. He doesn’t have the footwork to block athletic edge rushers. He ends up on his heels because of that and just gets whipped.

Lloyd- Proctor-Brailsford-Roberts-Carroll

That’s a unit I’d like to see get some reps together.

...we've lost 5 of the last 10... enough said. No mystique left. It has happened so much more quickly than anyone could've imagined. Concerning and embarrassing.

I said this earlier but Proctor has maybe eaten himself out of the first round and maybe completely out of the draft. The guy desperately needed to drop at least 40 lbs but he apparently just couldn’t put the donuts down.

I agree that Jackson Lloyd and Michael Carroll need to be starting this week. Proctor and Formby both need to be demoted. Hell, while we’re at it, I’d like see Dewberry benched too and replaced with Alinen. I don’t know how they could be any worse than Proctor, Formby and Dewberry.

Not that we haven’t seen this before and then the team somehow pulls it together. I just have a bad feeling that is not the case here.

We’ve been down this road before, and it didn’t end well. Flashback to September 2, 2000: ranked No. 3 in the preseason, we were blown out by UCLA. That team went on to lose seven more games, including a five-game skid to close the season and a 3-8 record.

What I’m seeing now feels much closer to that 2000 team than anything resembling a Saban-led program. Back then, Shaun Alexander and Chris Samuels masked so many of Dubose’s shortcomings. Now, I can’t help but wonder if Michael Penix and Rome Odunze were doing the same thing for DeBoer.

I truly hope I’m wrong.

He can’t do what this staff wants it’s guards to be able to do.

Yup

I wanted to believe it but they kept saying the same shite after every loss last year, and in the end KD didn’t prove anything significantly good so I had a wait and see approach

Also Bama had pre-season hype going into last season with things like PFF ranking Bama’s OL no.1 in the nation and turned out to be completely false

He’s a guard playing left tackle. And since Saban left he’s a guard playing left tackle that doesn’t have a disciplined coach to keep his weight in check.

I was hammering on this Saturday night lol.

Yes there is such a thing as too big, and he’s it. FSU ran around him like he wasn’t even there most downs.

He’s lazy, soft, timid. Not worth the space he takes up on the field.

He misses spring every year. Bench him til he's at 330 and then put him at guard.

From Grubb himself

quote:

I thought, you know, KP had a pretty good day. There was a couple late pressures, but he was holding up for a long time. Interior pressures were a couple times we had a few problems, which is always the hardest for the quarterback to deal with. They shorted up later in the fourth on that. But I think they did a good job with some of the twist games that they presented and overall three sacks is not where you want to be. And you know, I think we had 40 some attempts, so that's not where you want to live either, but I thought it was okay. I think there's certainly some ID things that we can continue to be better at.

I think he is definitely insinuating that Ty held on the ball much too long based on the play calls.

It definitely looked that way

Our OC said today in his press conference Proctor had a "really good game". We've got a bunch of clowns coaching this team.
