Suttles Article
Anybody know what this is about?

Per Suttles' tweet, his article is about things Coach Saban said in his press conference today. Everything Coach Saban said is in the post you responded to. Imo, Suttle's "red flags" hot take seems like BS click bait.

hat was usually Billingsley. He even carried it a couple of times I think. He's much more than a TE.
Hopefully returning kicks is not one of his roles this season

I would love to know how / why Billingsley was allowed to do that more than once.

With as radical of a move as sending your TE out to field kicks, it had to have Saban's blessing.

Interesting tidbit i read today that had Keilan Robinson working with the WRs. Probably just getting him experience in a role like Najee had. But with his speed, it would be awesome to see a 2 back set at times with one of them motioning into a wr route. Would be hell on a defense to adjust to.
I'm thrilled to hear that. I think Keilan will be used in a similar role as Curtis Samuel was when he was at OSU. A HB/Slot receiver. With his hands and speed he'd be very dangerous and I think would have a real chance to start.

with a loaded rb room and a guy as explosive as krob, you got to do something to get him on the field.

Is JTT ever going to commit?

I'm not sure he actually exists.

Saban quote from last week regarding WRs:
quote:
“I think speed kills on the football field and on the highway. I love to have speed guys. We have some big guys, but we’ve gotta get some speed guys, too.”

Saban actually addressed it at the time:
"We've had some injuries back there in terms of who has been our kickoff return guy. And he seems to be able to do it the best, and that's why we've given him an opportunity to do it."

Fair point. I'll amend my statement: I would love to know why he wasn't just told to fair-catch it every time. I think I recall only once he got it past the 25, and I can remember multiple times he brought it out after catching it three or four yards deep in the end zone.

I thought his presence was strange. Here is his return log:
1. vs. Florida - returned from the 0 to the 17 (penalty)
2. vs. Florida - returned from the 0 to the 27
3. vs. Florida - returned from the 0 to the 22
4. vs. Notre Dame - returned from the 0 to the 16
5. vs. Ohio State - returned from the 18 to the 25
It wasn't awful but I agree I hope to see some other guys back there this year. Billingsley is very athletic for a TE but with a high center of gravity he just isn't really shifty enough to make guys miss on those type of plays.
Keilan Robinson, Jase McClellan, and Slade Bolden I'm guessing will get looks. Although Slade was there last year and was apparently below Billingsley so maybe not him.

Of course he exists. He is rooming with Duron Carter when he gets here.

Seems he and his family REALLY want to visit OSU and Bama; and would not be surprised if he doesn't commit early June when he finishes his visits. (probably whoever gets the last visit gets the player)...but, I could be mistaken

He is a true 5-technique player. He is NOT a wide-9 up the field pass rusher no matter what the narrative may be. To be honest I am much more enthused about Monkell Goodwine,Damon Payne, and Dallas Turner than I have been on JT's film...

He was actually hurt against Kentucky blocking on a kick return. Returner was tackled into his legs and rolled him up.
